February 4, 201610 yr Kudos to Bill Self. I saw this live and thought the same thing. By the way, I'm becoming a Bill Self fan. He's a really down to Earth guy. Bill Self calls Brannen Greene?s game-ending dunk a ?d? move? ? CollegeBasketballTalk
February 4, 201610 yr I've always liked Self. I want him to be the next head coach at UK when Cal leaves.

February 4, 201610 yr Somehow Self has managed to keep Bragg and Diello on the bench and played two other guys with much less talent. From the outside, looks like he's trying to stash them for a 2nd season when most thought they'd be lotto picks before heading to KU.

Diallo wouldn't be a lottery pick in Canada. He's playing the right amount of minutes.

February 4, 201610 yr Everyone was chasing Diallo. Was his energy level covering for a lack of skill? Yes. I've been saying that for 2 years...
February 5, 201610 yr Everyone was chasing Diallo. Was his energy level covering for a lack of skill? Everyone was also chasing Skal and thought he was a sure lottery pick. Not so sure now. Sometimes we forget they're only 18 and may not be ready for the step up to college let alone the pros.
February 5, 201610 yr Maybe it is me, but I am not a fan of the public excoriation. I hope Self feels better about himself, but he could have reamed the kid in private, while also showing some contrition towards the situation.

Sometimes we forget they're only 18 and may not be ready for the step up to college let alone the pros. Sometimes we also forget that skill set, not size, determines position. Can you imagine Kevin Durant being forced to play inside? Not that Skal is on that level. To the point, I'm with bugatti. Rip the kid behind closed doors, but let the potential recruits know that isn't something your program will tolerate.
