Haven't heard them called gym shoes since the last time I watched the "Hoosiers" movie. (just funnin with ya btw) @Jim Schue could maybe answer that. Absolutely crushed. I don't think my tastes are superior to others in any particular area....however, if it's not Heinz Ketchup, Hellmans Mayo, or Makers Mark or better quality bourbon I simply will not consume it. :lol2: I'm not picky when it comes to mustard. Anything goes!!! As for hotels I have seen my fair share of many when I was in sales and acct. mngmt. Sometimes based on the town there are simply not many options. I'll just say the the one town I was most limited in was Ft. Wayne IN recently as three years ago. Cinema wise we like to go to Newport on the Levee and on occasion Mrs C1 and I will enjoy beer, popcorn, and apps out at the Florence Cinema ( beer, popcorn and the big screen is always a good time ). Thrifty when it comes to clothes. Goodwill, Kohls, Walmart, even Costco. However, I can be picky when it comes to shoes for comfort or American Made. Rockport and Johnston and Murphy for casual and dress. New Balance for gym shoes. I'm loyal to Wolverine for work, hunting boots. In retrospect I'm loyal to what I enjoy the quality and benefits from whether work boots that are comfortable and last longer or ketchup that I've grown up with since I can remember. Or movie cinemas that consistently provide a good viewing experience, as well as, a unique experience. And note I have taken beer into movie cinemas before. I highly recommend it. Twist off bottles work great! :bunny: But by all means I don't view my choices to be superior than others...
February 3, 201610 yr I was listening to Kornheiser today and he says he is snobbish about hotels and restaurants. What are you snobbish about? Tell us WHY you are snobbish. No snob here, but I'm also not going to get breakfast at the local Pepper Pod. Restaurants are a tough industry, and you roll the dice. So I guess I tend to choose a little more thoughtfully when making those calls. Hotels come down to what you are paying for. $65 a night isn't buying you much. $150 I can deal with, and have expectations, but nothing extraordinary. When I travel, I will have a bit of an idea of what to expect

I'd say I'm snobbish about chili as well. Real chili has no beans and definitely has no spaghetti in it. Meat and spices and tomato based broth. And the chili I make is FAR superior to anything anybody else around here does, homemade or restaurant. Yes it costs a lot more to make it, but it's more than worth it.
