Wow, talk about info. I didn't realize we had that many players returning. No mention of our running backs though, curious.

I would think they should be the preseason #1 team. They do bring back some awfully good players. Good article.

He did mention that Jeff Neagli and Tim Phillips will get most of the carries.

Then I must not have read it closely enough.

Plenty to be excited about for sure. Any question mark at RB is helped by a good size, fast, O-line. (Which I prefer over beefy and slow). Don't forget Nick has been known to run the ball some too. New set of receivers looked sharp in 7on7 and in practice. Several to pick from if one has a bad day. TE returns to the mix too. Defense in my opinion is stronger pre season than last year. LBs Rock solid. Spoelker & Robey likely to see double duty on D-line. Jody D. didn't comment on the the Rock kicking game which I think will be outstanding. Ryan T is a true weapon. Judging by the bling on their fingers, the coaches seem to know what they are doing. They turn X's and O's into W's, no disputing that. Crystal ball says Doc Mullen may want to look into throphy case expansion for some District hardware, etc..... maybe even another MacDaddy.... even if we aren't the best team (wink).

I'm really surprised that no one, including Jody, has mentioned anything about Andy Lynch returning to football after deciding to concentrate on solely basketball in his sophomore year. As a freshman lineman for the gravel squad, I actually thought he was better than Robey. At 6-6 and 225+?, will he be a giant tight end or another two-way OT/DT like Robey. Since the pebbles achieved so much late season success with two-way players, I can also visualize the Dutton twins being used both ways as WR/DB. Senn and Donnell were used in a similar fashion.

Hey OX, you must be two years behind on Trinity football. Andy hasn't played in two years and as of yesterday, he hasn't put on a uniform this season. Duttons are just fine at WR.

I beg to differ with you on this. You may want to catch up some yourself on pebble football. Andy played as a freshman in 2004, did not play as a sophomore in 2005, and he is now a junior in 2006. Therefore he has only been out of football for one year and not two.

There is no mention of Larry Taugher (spelling???) who I thought was a hard hitting linebacker last season. He injured a shoulder in the playoffs and saw limited action. Anyone know the story on him? I thought he would be a senior this year. Thanks.

Word on the street is that after being asked to move to another position by Beatty, he decided to leave the team. He was an outstanding linebacker, and I'm sure his loss will be sorely felt.

Wow. I didn't know that. I wish he would reconsider. He is a fine player and I enjoyed watching him. He will be missed a great deal.

You would be happy to know that the LB position is doing great without Mr. Taugher. I know that everyone attached to the team is wishing him well at his new school and in football.

Our two 1st string LBs have filled in just fine and the 2nd string is moving along as well. The LB postion will be a strenght this year.

If memory serves me correctly, and if this is the same youngster, an identical thing happened with him earlier in his career. Prior to his freshman season, in August, he was at St. X, playing linebacker. The coaches wished to move him to another position and he chose to leave the team and St. X and attend Trinity. If so, it is apparent that he really wants to play linebacker and it is a deal breaker if he is not at that position.
