BTW, can I also say this? I have heard numerous, numerous mentions of Petrino's arm, accuracy, etc. this pre-season. That's pretty darned exciting to me. He was brilliant last season, throwing for over 3K and 30 td's only 3 ints, and a 62% completion rating. If he is better than that, we will be tough to beat for sure.

He looks very, very good.

First, Coach Beatty doesn't coach defense, linebackers or otherwise.

Is Beatty no longer the head coach of the pebbles? Does he not have the final say in who plays where? Does he not coach the coaches in what he wants done? Do you not think he would be consulted when he was in danger of losing his top returning tackler? STRANGE!!

How have practices been going? Any surprises or kids looking like they just own their position and should domonate the H.S level? Speed, size, practice preformance?

Do you not think he would be consulted when he was in danger of losing his top returning tackler? STRANGE!!

I'm sure it was mentioned, but Terry has been given COMPLETE autonomy in getting his final product to the field, I would say that it has worked well.

Maybe ALL of the Coaches saw the same thing? including the ST.X coaching staff from 4 years ago, when the player being mentioned did the same thing at ST. X???? STRANGE

Did the Schikel kid go anywhere? I thought he was TOUGH!!

amen brother!!!!

I have heard of this "release" rule that we are talking about. Specifically with some kids involved between Trinity and X.

I'm still waiting for someone to provide the rule that allows a coach to give a kid a "release". Doesn't exist. Sorry. And I far as I know T an X are still part of the KHSAA. Maybe you could just give me the names of a few kids that were granted a "release".

True...and true.

Not true. Didn't happen that way. You should know better.

LT (and his parents) decided to leave Trinity after he was moved to the D-line. Trinity has many quality LB's, but are thin on the D-line in terms of experienced varsity players. LT would have been fighting for a role at LB instead of starting on the D-line. He (and parents) decided D-line was not in his best personal interest and left the school. The move happened well before the season began and the team has not skipped a beat becasue of it. I understand the parents talked with several Jefferson County coaches before deciding to move into an apartment in Jeffersonville so that LT would be eligible there. Best of luck to him (and his parents).

Releases happen all the time. I'm not sure how the KHSAA rules allows this. Is this a Jefferson Co thing?

May LT & his family go with GOD:walk:

There guidelines to transfers. Coachs can't restrict movement or enhance it. Transfers happen for a number of reasons. Finances change, academics, moves (bona fide or not) but it isn't up to the former coach to appove or disapprove a move. Sounds cool but it doesn't happen that way. Please give me an example of a kid that would otherwise be restricted that a former coach stepped up and said "oh never mind, its OK with me, let him go" and the kid didn't give any excuse other than he just wanted to play somewhere else and he played without a penalty. I think you will find that some circumstance (real or made-up) was involved.
