February 2, 201610 yr If a 74 year old Socialist is putting up this kind of fight against the Clinton machine, are the Democrats getting worried about Hillary's electability? I wonder if Biden is second guessing his decision to not enter the race. I think Hillary's camp is still relying on the fact that these two candidates are getting there support from the complete opposite end of the age spectrum. They still have the upper hand because her age group of supporters actually votes. Bernie's age group of supporters historically don't vote.

If he's smart he will. A lot would depend on how willing he is to be a team player and swallow his pride. The opportunity for republicans to win this election is there if they can all do the right thing for republicans and not just themselves. Seems like having Bush and Kasich heavily involved in some manner could pay off big if the strategy is executed with some competence.

But to answer your question, I do think he would take the offer to be running mate. His dad started as VP, so I think he sees that and says in 8 years I'll have the upper hand of being named next president.

One demographic that has to be troubling is the younger vote. Not that it is a large voting demographic, but she got clobbered with younger voters yesterday. I do think Biden would bring a more wide appeal. Not that Rubio or the Republicans are going to have droves of young voters out for them, but not capturing that demo could hurt the Democrats.

Just want to point out that the two extremists in the race -- Cruz from an ideological standpoint and Trump from a presentation standpoint -- garnered 52 percent of the Iowa vote combined. So the message I'm hearing is that Republicans don't want another "safe" establishment candidate. (We shall see how solid that 52 percent is in coming weeks.) I also question the wisdom of putting losers like Bush or Kasich on the ticket. The GOP likely will put a woman (Nikki Haley) in the VP spot if Hillary is the Dem standard-bearer. I doubt that geographical balance is important in presidential tickets anymore.

It was my prediction after the first debate. Just seemed to make sense. I'm very interested to see how all this plays out.
