Don't they house kids on their campus for schooling?

No, cordia is not a boarding school!

PurplePride92 I really respect you and what you do for high school basketball, but you need to do research on Rhodes and the cordia boys basketball team before you keep singing his praises!!!

What is the reason that they have dorms?

I am aware of all they have done and they have been rightfully penalized for it. I hated to see the what took place and how they did things but they were punished and I am fine with that. I can't keep kicking them while they are down. If they haven't learned from their past transgressions then they will pay the price again.

I've been a huge fan of Rhodes since the day he arrived at UK. Regardless of how anyone feels about Cordia they have overcome adversity and this past weekend is a great moment for Cordia and their program. I can't help but be happy for them.

Do they house kids from out of state at Cordia? Do they still utilize their dorms for students?

I think part of the perception issue with Cordia right now is that they were punished for recruiting yet they are playing players that were clearly recruited and had special circumstances arranged for them to be able to go to school and play there. Punishing them is one thing. Allowing the kids to be eligible to play is another.

I'm fine with them playing. But I can't figure out how they can allow kids to play who were clearly recruited. What's the point in the rules?

All that to say... I'm fine with them being in the all a.

Wait until they're eligible and participate in the sweet 16. It will cause carpal tunnel on this site all of the angst that will be hammered out on keyboards across the Commonwealth.

Are you sure it was these kids or kids that are no longer at the program? Not doubting you. Sincere question. I don't recall all of the actual kids being involved but I was thinking some of them have moved on.

Keep in mind these kids could have transferred to another school in the state and been eligible immediately.

This is true.

What is the reason that they have dorms?

At one time they were a boarding school, now they have one house where several boys basketball players live without their parents!

Please tell me what adversity they have overcome?

Only Boys basketball players! NO other students! They are not a boarding school this is illegal!

Like I said do some research!

IMO getting caught breaking the rules, paying the price for it and still being able to win the All A tournament is overcoming adversity. Just because it was self inflicted adversity doesn't mean it isn't adversity. I also commend the kids for not leaving Cordia for greener pastures when the punishment was handed out.

Help me with the research.

Are they denying non basketball playing students a chance to stay in the dorms or do the non basketball students just so happen to live in the area? Can a kid from West Virginia who doesn't play any sports at all come live in those dorms if there is room and attend Cordia?

There is only 2 left that could have transferred!

First of all they do not have dorms, they have one house where several cordia boys basketball players live! And NO, no other kid from WV or anywhere else can live in the house! cordia is NOT a boarding school!

It doesn't bother me at all. I'm happy Cordia won honestly. But, I can't see any kids from Cordia on the roster...at least not in the regular rotation. Am I wrong about this?

Again, it doesn't upset me in the slightest but I understand why some other schools might be frustrated.

I understand that as well. At the same time if the roster was full of kids that weren't from Cordia and the basketball team wasn't any good then no one would care.

That's my concern.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

I'm just saying...1-2 transfers...there might be a few jokes but no one thinks twice about it.

9-10 transfers and folks are going to be up in arms.

I think that's where the hard feelings originate.

Like I say, I like Coach Rhodes and always enjoy watching his teams play, but I understand why some would question things.
