You are so easily offended. I admire your backing of Highlands and yes they lost to Newport by 1 but Newport wins handily next go around. But I'm not getting into a shouting match.

As handily as they did bracken last night? A one point win at home doesn't merit a blowout next game. It don't matter who is returning. Hope your on here that night if the birds pull the upset of the yr lol. Anyways districts will be here soon enough. Good luck both teams.

It's unfortunate if kids feel "pressure" to not play a particular sport because a coach is in the kids ear. Kids should freely play as many sports as possible and not succumb to the mindless antics of a High School coach. If a coach has used these tactics to keep "difference makers" from playing, or even players that would be role players, then shame on them. I hear the Highlands JV is very good. So maybe the talent is right around the corner.

Agree wholeheartedly but I cant imagine a coach telling a kid not to play. I saw firsthand when my son played a few years ago the pressure that those kids in his class felt if they missed Spring football due to other sports or missed June conditioning because of Basketball training that was scheduled. It has been ingrained in their minds or atleast was during that 6 or 7 yr run of State Championships that you better be there or else.....or else you may lose your spot to someone else.

 

Help is on the way for the program. There is plenty of talent coming up through the system and I expect to see the Birds on the winning end more so than not in the very near future.

Wow this thread has taken a tangent turn. You folks realize that HHS starts 3 juniors and a soph? The football kids are strong multi-sport athletes. Finfrock does a great job on the boards and LaFrange is just as deadly from outside as Ludwig or Moevis. Hall really impressed last night! Weyer might not have had his best game but he is still my pick for 9th player of the year. Let me say this I believe they can get Newport this year and they can win the district next year. Mark my words!

7th grade is 51-0 past 2 seasons. 8th graders are 19-3 this yr. Birds frosh are pretty talented with exceptional athletes not sure of their record. JV this yr are pretty good so nobody is waiting for any of those you mentioned to walk thru the door.

Plus a sophomore point guard who has played some varisty since he was a frosh. Things are on the up. A few good jrs as well. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Back to the game...... What happened to the other twin on NCC? Injured? Sick?

 

Highlands actually got some decent production inside and probably more than they thought they would going into the game.

They rotated in the post and did a good job defensively.

 

Neff for NCC is a shooter and should only improve with more basketball experience. The NCC football guys have to play catch-up but should improve the deeper the season goes.

 

Got to say Hall was the most impressive player on the floor on offense and defense. Going to have a very good high school career. NCC plays that up-tempo pace and that will wear some teams down.

Those records are indeed very impressive. The key is being able to keep the "core" of each of those classes so that you are able to build back the program. Just let kids be kids and allow them to be the best athlete that they can be in all sports. It's great to hear the pipeline is loaded. As a former grad of Highlands it's good to see the younger teams having success.

You are very good at raising nonsensical questions. When you refer to 44 in white, I don't think the jersey number or color makes much difference. Also, your subsequent post about the game, are you kidding me? "they were in the game for 2 1/2 quarters" They were not in the game for any quarters. One kid who could hit 3s, and subsequently acted like he was some kind of star, does not close the 10, 15 or 20 point gap that existed throughout most of the game. Your perception is distorted and I feel no facts will get in the way of that.
