NKY JV and Freshmen Squads

Great numbers by both schools, as is the post on Highlands "traditions"--A testament to the power of building good feeder programs!!

Thanks BG. Apologize if I go a little over the top on the tradition stuff from time to time, but of all the things I love about Highlands football, its the tradition thing I am most proud about.

Campbell has only been getting numbers in the twenties in recent years, so this is a huge increase.

That is a huge increase and reflects very, very well on Coach Steyer's program and presumedly the increased support he is getting. I truly believe that with the right support from the administration, Campbell County can be a contender for state championships, which would build so much support and pride in the community that tax levies getting voted down would be a thing of the past in that district.

That is a huge amount of bodies...if you have an offense that goes one way and a defense that does the same you still have 33 kids left. Then lets say you back up each position, still have 11 kids left. Talk about depth.....

Add to that platooning and you can have a whole lot of kids involved in the game. :thumb:

I think someone said Dixie has close to 60 fresh this year !:ylsuper: Nice size with some speed ! Not sure of the names yet , if someone could help out ???I know the JV will be very strong again this year !:thumb: I can see them having a year like last year again ! I think 9-1 or 10-1 .:thumb:

Last season our JV was 9-1 and the Turkeyfoot middle school team was the league champions, add to that the NKYFL Raiders who went to their championship and we should be sitting pretty for quite a few years to come. BTW - I'm not sure what the freshman team record was off the top of my head last season, but they had some good players on it. I do remember that much. :D

Watched him pitch the last two innings for the "Hosea Hitmen" to help them win the Greater Cincy Knothole Championship tonight. A very talented boy which will be fun to watch in football this year. Glad he's a "BIRD"!:thumb:

I saw that kid on the front page of the Kypost hoisting Connor Crowley in the air. He looked twice his size. What grade is that kid ?

Freshman. He is twice his size. Somewhere about 6'0" and 240. He will be a huge impact player on the freshman level this year.

Who's going to be the fresh QB this year ? I heard some rumors ,but....?

He's a FROSH and he played B league?

I was thinking the same thing. This past fall, I helped coach the C team that was runner-up in city, and that's composed of 10 and 11 year olds. Therefore B would be composed of 12 and 13 year olds. Unless he's an 8th grader playing FRESHMAN ball.?.?.?

He is not allowed to be 14 yrs. of age before May 1 2006 . It doesn't matter what grade he's in. They moved the date from August 1 to May 1 this year. I hope this answers your ?

Looks like somebody could have been held back....huh.

Although I don't condone it if the kid has a birthday before July.... JMO

I know of a couple kids who were held back a grade and they have March/April birthdays..... In fact one of the kids has the same birthday as my son only 1 yr younger but he is 2 grades below him. Go figure.

I think you have it backwards. Brown if he's a freshman but young enough to still be playing B league is actually young for his class (unless I haven't had enough coffee yet and have it backwards, but I don't think so).

Right, he is a Young Frosh. He should have been held back and he would be going into the 8th and he would be an even bigger stud as an 8th grader to be.

My other comments were basically stating that I don't condone holding back kids who have B-days before July.

Hope this helps clarify my jumbled message. Like I always say on here.... I half type and try to do my day job...... the one that earns me coin so sometimes things dont always come out right. :jump:

HHS Frosh won't lose a game this year...They should be really strong again. Going for 3 straight undefeated seasons... GO BIRDS!!!!!! :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Another cocky HHS fan

CCH has mostly juniors starting jv i think their skill postions will be pretty good.
