Escape Room

Been seeing these pop up a little bit more around the Cincinnati area lately. I believe there's 3 of them now, "Cincinnati Escape Room", "Houdini's Room Escape" and "Escape The Room Challenge". Premise is: you and your friends (and perhaps a stranger or two) are "locked" in a room with a bunch of clues regarding your "mission", and you must use them to get out.

Looks like prices are pretty uniform - $28 per person for all three of the ones I mentioned.

Was thinking it might be something different to do with a group of friends, but thought I'd see if anyone has already done it, and what their thoughts were on the experience.

We've been looking into doing this for a while now. Unless you're good with being paired with complete strangers, you need 8 people. That's the only reason we haven't done it yet. Seems cool.

It is AWESOME. I've done the one in Louisville (will be going again this week) and we had a blast. We had 4 people in our group and were paired with 4 other people (2 couples who didn't know each other) and we all had a great time. You have to work together to get it done. Great way to do something different with buddies and team building for a work outting. 100% recommend it.

I did the "Kidnapping" themed room. It was cool, but I probably wouldn't do it again on my own. It would be a great team building event for a workplace.

I was surprised at the success rate. I can't recall, but I think our room was the most difficult and about 35% of people completed it successfully (within an hour). My group did NOT.

Fiance did it with a group of girls this weekend. I think they did Cincinnati Escape Room. I can't remember which version they did, but they got out with 1:30 to spare.

I think she said it was $20. I thought it sounded fun.

I have been thinking of going over and doing this.

We need a BGP group. Democrats equally paired with republicans. lol

Don't know about bringing the political aspect into it...but, I'd be all for getting a group (or two) together. Maybe we could do this as a get-together sometime.

Did the Kidnapping Room at Breakout Cincinnati this past Sunday with a group from the animal rescue. We had 8 in our room, 8 in the other Kidnapping Room and 8 in the Casino Royale room. It was a blast. For awhile you feel completely lost but once things start falling into place, it's a great feeling.

We had about 12 minutes left and we thought we were going to fail. But then we figured out one clue and within a few minutes were about to figure out the rest. Ended up getting out in a total time of 51:08 (our group was the first out, the other Kidnapping group was second and the Casino group failed).

I definitely recommend it and personally I will be going back.
