nWo Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Monday evening update. I'm going to go ahead and go into a Winter Weather Threat mode for Wednesday. It looks like we have a very good chance for accumulating snow in most of Kentucky. Western Kentucky looks to receive freezing rain/sleet or ice. Most of Central and south central Kentucky now look to get 2-4" of snow by Thursday. There could be some spots that get up to 5". Cities included in the 2-4" category are Princeton, Henderson City, Owensboro, Bowling Green, Monticello, Corbin, London, Louisville, Richmond, Winchester, Mt. Sterling, Lexington, Owenton, Carrollton, Cynthiana. Northern and Eastern Kentucky are looking to receive 1-2". Western Kentucky could see .01-.10" of freezing rain/sleet plus 1-2" of snow. This total could be lower depending on when the freezing rain changes over to snow. Please take note that these totals will likely change between now and Wednesday. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on how much they may get in their area. snow accumulation chance freezing Rain/Ice chance
nWo Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Also don't forget we look to be hit again this weekend.
TAC Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Thanks pal! Time for milk, bread and egg shopping.
JDEaston Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Thank's @nWo. The system coming in Thursday night through the weekend is looking to be a monster from what I've seen on the weather apps I use. The apps I use are not as reliable as your forecasts, but they are usually in the same neighborhood. Looking forward to your updates.

The Professor Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Thanks for the updates. I dread the snow and cold the older I get. I used to love it back in the day. I'm guessing once these patterns set in that it won't be over until April, same as last winter.
sweet16 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 The weekend storm is looking like a big one. For WKY or for other parts of the state?
TheDeuce Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'm flying to Florida on the 27th... Don't you dare mess this up for me, @nWo....
nWo Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 For WKY or for other parts of the state? The entire state but the biggest accumulations look to be in central, south central, northern and eastern Kentucky.

TheDeuce Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Ok I won't say what the GFS is showing for then. :thumb: :lol2: I saw an extended outlook. I wasn't happy about it.
True blue (and gold) Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 nWo, I am okay with snow. I can't stand the uber frigid temperatures. Do you see anything in the extended forecast that is worse than what we have now?

Do you see anything in the extended forecast that is worse than what we have now? for the next couple of weeks I don't. Although I think we will see our worst weather in February.
hoops5 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 So for us NKY folks---snow coming on Wednesday----timing for that? And more snow on Thursday night into Friday? Thanks!
rockmom Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I am so dreading Wednesday. I have a meeting I absolutely, positively have to be at the resort for. I have no dog sitter, so I can't spend the night. It's going to be a long, miserable drive to and ffrom.
