PS - possibly this was one of the two Eagles concerts where ol' pap was in attendance. The memories are a bit foggy, for some reason.

Got on the elevator 20th floor in my dorm at EKU in the early 80s and drank a large amount of orange juice before hitting floor 1 and watched these guys in Alumni....was a crazy night.:lol2: The things we do when we were young...

Saw these guys a couple times back in the 80's, good stuff.

I'm glad you brought up .38 Special, although I have their Greatest Hits on my phone.....I was watching some of their videos just now and completely forgot about this one.........great tune.

Paul Stanley of KISS wrote this song as a possible track for Rod Stewart, but with the success of drummer Peter Criss singing lead on "Beth" they decided to keep it, and again have Peter sing lead on this number. I can completely see it also being a tune that is right up Rod Stewart's alley.

How about a little Blackfoot?

Not to be a wet blanket — well, OK, I'm totally going to be a wet blanket — but the thread title specifically states "forgotten" tunes. Some of you are really straying from that. I'm gonna give McPapa a pass because he may have forgotten about the fact that the last 4 songs he posted are some of the most iconic songs in the rock'n'roll canon. The rest of you have no excuse. No way no how that "Hard Luck Woman" is a "forgotten" tune.

"The radio plays that forgotten song"

Guaranteed that tons of people never even knew the song existed in the first place.

You do, of course, because you follow music more closely than the average person.

You're right, for many it's not "forgotten" if they have never heard it to begin with.

Once in a blue moon you might hear "Beth" on the radio.

If I had a dime for every time I've ever heard "HLW" on the radio, I'd be dead broke.

Ask the average person "Name two songs that Peter Criss" sang for KISS?", and you might have them say "Beth" and then say "I never knew that he ever sang lead on anything else".
