My wife and I danced to that one at our wedding. Always a special place in my heart for that one.

I had that Greatest hits album. Loaned it to a buddy of mine I played a lot of basketball with and never saw it again. I keep trying to find it somewhere and can't. I guess I should just download it and burn my own disc.

 

One of my other very favorites from around that time that you don't hear played very often was Boz Scaggs' Silk Degrees album.

One of my best friends in high school was in school with them (he was a couple years behind) in London around 1970 or so.

This one came out has the decade of the 80's closed, but I really enjoy listening to this one.

Have always loved this song. Sadly it somehow seems to have been forgotten, but that's cool that you danced to it at your wedding.

Damn, you must be older than I thought (jk) to have this played at your wedding. If I recall it was a big wedding song in the early 70's. Not gonna believe for one minute that you were married in the early 70's. Maybe the early 80's?

 

Did you have a band or a DJ?

 

My older sister also had this as her wedding song back when it was still the trend to have a band. Does anybody ever have a band anymore at their wedding?

 

I was 8 at the time and recall being mostly excited about her wedding simply because she was having a real live band at her reception.

 

I still remember that they were a local cover band named "Blue" but to me, right in my face, they were the best band on earth. My ears heard every song that night as if it were being played by the original artist.

This one just missed the 80s, but still 25 years old.

I never knew that the band "America" was from "England" until now.

 

Wow...very cool piece of trivia. I guess that I just always assumed that they were from the states and never considered otherwise. :ohbrother:
