January 13, 201610 yr Poor Hue. Could a guy possibly walk into more dysfunctional situations than the Raiders and the Browns? :lol2: Nowhere to go but up, I guess.
January 13, 201610 yr And my peeps said SF was a done deal.. Lol! I'm gonna have to bust their chops next time I see them. This sounds like Hue may have let his ego choose this job... Maybe he wants to be "the guy" that finally turned the Browns around... And who knows, Marvin did it to a large degree in Cincinnati... Maybe Hue can do it in Cleveland...
January 13, 201610 yr AJ McCarron will be traded for in about 1 month, and the Bengals will get a 1st and a 3rd for him. I'm going to go @qryche on this. "You heard it here first!" I mentioned it before I wouldn't trade McCarron unless a team would give up a 1st round pick for him. So yes this would be a great trade, however considering he already did that once to get Palmer. I doubt he will do it again lol.
January 13, 201610 yr And was fired after one season.... In his defense he probably doesn't get fired if Al Davis didn't die that year. Al Davis really liked him and Hue gave Oakland their best season in a long time that season at 8 and 8. However Al did and then his son decided to hire a GM and the GM wanted to bring his own coach in. So it was more bad luck than him doing a bad job.
January 13, 201610 yr If he can get the QB position figured out there are pieces in Cleveland to do well. They have a solid offensive line, a good TE, and apparently they aren't going to cut Josh Gordon. So if he can keep his head on straight which is a big if, they have a legit number 1 receiver. On defense they have a good secondary if they stay healthy. Not to mention I believe they have 11 draft picks this year, so its not as bad of a situation as people think. It all just comes down to if he can get the QB situation figured out.
January 13, 201610 yr I just heard a report that the Browns is not a done deal just an agreement in principle and that the Bengals have approached Hue with a offer to stay with a succession plan
January 13, 201610 yr And was fired after one season.... and it was a dumb move on their part. Went 8-8 and 6-0 in the division.
January 13, 201610 yr I just heard a report that the Browns is not a done deal just an agreement in principle and that the Bengals have approached Hue with a offer to stay with a succession plan Wouldn't they be better off just firing Marvin and letting Hue take over now? Has there ever been such a thing in the NFL?
January 13, 201610 yr I think this may just show that Jackson either isn't very smart or is just desperate for an NFL head job. No one in their right mind would take this job, completely dysfunctional and it starts at the top, and until that changes nothing will change.

No one in their right mind would take this job, completely dysfunctional and it starts at the top, and until that changes nothing will change. Make no mistake about it. The worst HC gig in the league is better than the best coordinator job.
January 13, 201610 yr I just heard a report that the Browns is not a done deal just an agreement in principle and that the Bengals have approached Hue with a offer to stay with a succession plan Maybe Hue already hit the ground running: Reports say Hue Jackson will move on from Manziel | ProFootballTalk
January 13, 201610 yr Make no mistake about it. The worst HC gig in the league is better than the best coordinator job. Nope, I totally disagree with that. Sure, it's what most every coordinator eventually wants, but not every coordinator that's been offered a head job has accepted either because of differing circumstances...such as a team being in absolute turmoil, like the Browns are.
January 13, 201610 yr Make no mistake about it. The worst HC gig in the league is better than the best coordinator job. Only financially. If your ownership group stinks, then you will not be around for long
January 13, 201610 yr Only financially. If your ownership group stinks, then you will not be around for long All coaches by nature think they can be the one that turns things around and gets it fixed. So usually when someone has a chance to be the man in charge they want it, even if it comes with knowing if it doesn't go well then you will be out of a job soon.

It all just comes down to if he can get the QB situation figured out. That would give them one of the better wide receiver tandems in the league. They need to revamp the front 7 and safety positions. It has its intrigue. Just gotta get Haslem to be hands off.
