To be fair a majority of people don't agree with the viewpoint of this article. This viewpoint that Israel would attack us doesn't make sense.

 

Israel owned up to the mistake made in the 60s using 60s technology. They also paid millions of dollars to the US Navy and the injured sailors. They were at war with Arab nations, unfortunate stuff happens during war, such as Obama murdering people with drones accidentally in the sandbox.

Read an article today regarding Trump. There are petitions being considered in both Irish and UK Parliaments to ban him from their countries. Foreign Policy and Diplomatic Relations may NOT be in his wheelhouse.

 

First let's see if they pass. Second it's not like it would stand if he won. I'm guessing this is a small group of lawmakers trying to make a statement. I would hope a majority of leaders from an ally would be smarter than this.

I don't think he shot first asked questions later . That would depend how long it took Iran to give our soldiers back. They did what was in their interest handing them over quickly.

 

I also don't have a problem with Obama's drones except when he kills American citizens .

 

Like I said Kerry's statement was embarrassing.

I have zero issue with how this played out. We should all want situations like this to be handled swiftly and without incident like this one was.

I'll also add this...If an Iranian naval boat with Iranian military members was located in our waters most on here would be hollering about how they were trying to plan some sort of attack or they were a bunch of Muslim terrorists.

 

There is no chance that the vast majority on here would've been okay with our government just letting them go right away. They would've seen it as an act of war.

The real question is why two boats of that size were floating around in the ocean by themselves. People who are upset should be looking for that answer to place blame. What do you expect to happen if you get lost in Iranian seas? They aren't going to throw a party. Just like the US Coast Guard wouldn't throw a party for a boat load of Muslims floating around off the coast of Hilton Head.

My comment about Obama using drones to murder people which he has on multiple occasions in the Middle East, is that stuff happens during war, sometimes terrible stuff. It's all in reference to SG calling out Israel for an almost 50 year old incident (USS Liberty). Yet my man SG has posted on here, that he goes to Israel and works as a contractor. Same guy calls out the NRA but owns guns and thousands of rounds of ammo. I can't keep up, must be getting old.

It has been my experience that one can be a gun owner and still be at loggerheads with some of the NRA's platform.

 

In any event, we ALL should be glad that this played out as it did.

Agreed, and this is what I have been saying for since this whole thing started, if this was reversed and an Iranian military boat "drifted" into U.S. waters all but many a couple of members on the right wouldn't believe anything that those on the boat would have said, and those same people would be the first ones to say that we should blow there boat(s) out of the water, and they would expect nothing less.

 

And as Wireman asked, why were those boats out there by themselves and that close to Iranian waters? In Fact, some military experts are saying that it was incompetence, either by those on the boats or a commander for allowing them to get that close to Iranian waters.

 

On a side note: Someone brought up Kerry, I do not like how they are handling Putin, and I am very disappointed in how we allowed the entire Ukrainian situation play out, we should have sent troops into Ukraine during Crimea to show that no one will mess with Ukraine, like we promised them we would in the early 90's in a deal for them to give up all of the nukes they acquired after the fall of the U.S.S.R., If they didn't listen to the west, Putin would not have messed with Ukraine at all.

 

But back to this situation, we are lucky this played out as it did, but the powers to be in the military need to make sure that we do not "drift" into another nations waters again anytime soon.

I agree with both of you two. I would add one thing. There is a huge difference between us and them. They know that and that's why they handled it that way. We also have interests and reasons to be around that area. Iran has no reason to have a boat off our coast.
