January 11, 201610 yr I understand if he was let go but I also understand why he is being kept. This team should have had a 1st round bye before Dalton got hurt. I know they lot spectacularly but you have to take a step back and ask how many coaches can win as many games the Bengals did this year?

Can he take the Bengals to the next level (winning a single playoff game)? History says no.
January 11, 201610 yr This would not be acceptable in any other sport. Heck we ran Dusty out of town for not getting it done only two times in the playoffs. Marvin gets a free lifetime pass for some reason.
January 11, 201610 yr Image, Bengals let Marvin go, he goes to Cleveland, wins a playoff game. Cincy fans revolt.

Who, Who, Who...............

January 11, 201610 yr In all honesty I am surprised Marvin wouldn't want to do what Tom Coughlin did and step down on his own. It may not be a bad thing for the Bengals or him to get fresh starts. The Bengals would be an attractive job and Marvin would easily get a head coaching job somewhere else.
January 12, 201610 yr I wold rather be a coordinator in Cincinnati than a head coach in Cleveland. Atleast you get a chance to win in Cincy. At least the Browns have won a playoff game since 1990. Also at their worst the Browns never achieved 14 consecutive seasons without a winning record like a certain southern Ohio team. The people on here who don't appreciate what Marvin Lewis has done in Cincinnati deserve a new coach, and a repeat of the 90's.
January 12, 201610 yr I'll take the 7 playoff losses over the 1 Browns playoff win and virtually no winning seasons in the last decade and a half... That's for sure.

I wouldn't want to be a Browns fan....seems like every year that they are having to learn who the head coach is and then HC isn't given a chance to implement anything because after year two, they tightened the noose and they're gone.
January 12, 201610 yr I would too. Just find it funny how many people want Marvin gone for his lack of success.
January 12, 201610 yr This season loss wasn't Marvins fault. They literally were a fumble away from winning. I get his history might stink, but this year was a different animal. As soon as Dalton got hurt the season was over, and they still almost won.
