January 5, 201610 yr The Rams, Chargers, and Raiders have all applied to move to Los Angeles. Decision expected as soon as next week or sometime in February. I have not read if they NFL will allow more than one to move.
January 5, 201610 yr I don't get this. I mean, ultimately i know it's money. But don't St Louis and San Diego have plenty of fan support?
January 5, 201610 yr I know it's a business and all but the NFL is going to have to stand up for the fans of these teams. SD and OAK seem to be interested in keeping their teams based on their last home games but the folks in STL seem to be waiting for spring training to start.

One of the few cities that is truly all about baseball.
January 5, 201610 yr St. Louis has supported the Rams over the years. And there has been some really bad years lately.
January 5, 201610 yr Chargers and Raiders are proposing to move together and share a new Stadium and I think will need NFL/State help building a new stadium. Rams are wanting to build a new stadium near the Staples Center, owner already has the land and has said most if not all of the stadium will built with private funds. St. Louis has proposed a new stadium package for the Rams so they have attempted to keep the Rams but the Rams have turned down the proposal. One proposal I saw for the new Stadium in LA that the Rams want to build has a stadium that, while maybe not bigger, would be more upscale than Jerry World with a ton of seating/boxes for the Celebrity Crowd. San Diego had no interest in moving as long as they were the only team in SoCal, when the Raiders and Rams started talking about moving back to L.A. the Chargers jumped on the relocation band wagon trying to maintain a grip on SoCal.
January 5, 201610 yr St. Louis has supported the Rams over the years. And there has been some really bad years lately. Attendance has been near the bottom of the league for the past 8 years, never breaking 90%. Rams are one of a handful of teams that have been in the 80-90% range for the last decade. Of course they have sucked during that time frame, but they've haven't been as bad year in and year out as Cleveland for example and those fans come out every week. I think in the end it is the best for St Louis to not spend the extra money on a stadium.
January 5, 201610 yr I agree on the "not spending money". There is nothing wrong with the Dome. Crazy that a new stadium is being considered.
January 5, 201610 yr I don't get this. I mean, ultimately i know it's money. But don't St Louis and San Diego have plenty of fan support? San Diego is supportive of their weather and that's about it. It's basically a neutral field that tends toward visiting teams, particularly high profile franchises. (Cowboys, Patriots, Packers, etc...)
January 5, 201610 yr Are the teams in the same division allowed to be in the same city? That's interesting. I figured it would be the Raiders or Chargers and the Rams.
January 5, 201610 yr I agree on the "not spending money". There is nothing wrong with the Dome. Crazy that a new stadium is being considered.EJD has between 60-120 suites depending on how they are divided up...Cowboys Stadium has over 300...suites are where it is at as far as making money for the teams and bragging rights between owners.

(Cowboys, Patriots, Packers, etc...) True, SD has so many people from around the country due to the number of Military bases in the area...every team that comes to town has fans already there waiting for them.

SD and OAK seem to be interested in keeping their teams based on their last home games but the folks in STL seem to be waiting for spring training to start. Let me answer that from the perspective of a Cleveland Browns fan: No! the NFL will not stand up to teams that want to move. The NFL is made up of owners and owners are very reluctant to vote against what other owners want to do with their teams because they may need support of those owners for some plan they come up with in future years. Owners are not about fans they are about money. It is a business. They play to the fans to keep the fans spending money on their teams. If they think they can get more money somewhere else, they leave in the middle of the night (Colts) or tell a city they don't want to talk about a stadium deal during the season so as not to take the focus off of winning, and yet hold secret talks with another city and plan to move at the same time (Modell). Any team that moves does not deserve fans. That's why I never could get excited about the Indy Colts, though I really like Manning. Baltimore? They are dead to me.
