Steelers lost DeAngelo Williams. Ben stunk 2 games in a row. Martavis Bryant was benched because he was putrid. Antoine Blake has given up over 1200 yards this season and is the single poorest CB in the game. Special teams stunk. Steelers got no shot.

I'm not saying they'd win with Dalton, because they wouldn't, I'm just saying they have no shot without him IMO.

 

At this point I think their best chance is McCarron. Even if somehow Dalton gets cleared this week. He is going to be very rusty, no idea how thumb will respond or how well his grip will be. Not to mention he already has be big monkey on his back about not playing well in the playoffs. So o disagree that he is their best chance for this week.

 

Now hopefully he can get cleared and can start getting back into the swing of things to then take over maybe after this week.

 

Let's not forget Ryan freaking Mallett came off the street and practiced maybe one week with the Ravens and beat the Steelers.

I thought as long as Dalton is healthy and the Bengals got the bye, their best chance was with Andy because he would have 2 weeks to get ready. But I think unless he is ready to go RIGHT NOW, which doesn't appear the case, I'll take AJ McCarron with 3 weeks under his belt and a whole week to prepare than Andy with only a couple days at best.

I was assuming as you say a 3 seed at home would be a favorite. Truly I do not to make any bet's being I normally lose. Should be a good game I hope and again think Cincinnati will be tough to beat at home. Those who discredit Marvin he may not have been successful in the playoffs and I agree that is part of coaching success but I remember when Bengal fans use to wear bags on their heads. He has put a competitive product on the field and has been consistent. Appreciate what your team has done over the length of a long season. And I know he has consistently lost in the playoffs. Support your team many cities would love to have them.

What part of McCarrons game wasnt very good today? Receivers dropping the ball early? The offensive line getting holding calls early in the game killing drives? Now he did miss the deep pass to Burkhead, which he has to make because he was wide open.

 

However other than what part was bad? The part of him having to yell at Kroft for lining up wrong? Seems like McCarron knew where he was suppose to be. You have to remember that they had a tackle trying to play fullback today, who he had to keep re directing. Then also you had Kroft play more in two te sets when usually Hewitt is the second te in two te sets. Seems to me your looking for something that was not there.

 

Is McCarron playing as good as Dalton was this year? Nope. Is McCarron playing good enough for them, yep. So not sure how you thouhght he wasn't very good today. It sure seemed like he knew what was suppose to be going on but not some of the other younger players. Don't forget there were times when 4 rookies were out there at once with him.

I will agree that he is holding on to the ball a little to long and that is something I have said the last few weeks. What the Bengals miss is Daltons quick release because they hid a lot of the offensive line problems since he got rid of it so quick. McCarron definitely needs more time than what Dalton needs. I can't argue that.

Lived here for about 8 years and never saw a fan base like Cincy. They pray for the Chargers to beat Denver to get an undeserved bye so they won't have to play a road game at home against the Steelers.

 

That said, January is when teams like the Steelers thrive in. Got plenty of Super Bowl rings to prove it. Cincy is a fine team in Sept and Oct, then reality sets in with the cold weather. Steelers 37, Cincy 14, in Three Rivers Southwest!

Buddy of mine from Pitt. texted me a ticket broker here in Cincy is charging 3x face value, but Steelers fans have already grabbed more than 1,000 of them. Said the ticket guy is expecting a lot of Bengals fans to sell their seats as well. Go figure!!!!
