I've downloaded it...it looks good. It seems to have most of what I like in a weather app.

I really like it during possible thunderstorms. It has a thing called spark that automactically warns about possible lightning in your area.

I forgot to put in the post with the experimental map that this is centered around 7pm EST next Friday.

With my lightning history...I noticed that Spark Function right off :thumb:

Here's the latest front and pressure map for next Friday. As everyone can see it shows the system I talked about earlier close to the Gulf Coast. Also take note of the Low pressure system around the Texas/Oklahoma boarder. These two Lows may combined to bring us our possible winter weather during next weekend into the week of the 11th.

It will actually tell you how close the lightning is and when you should seek shelter.

I honestly should be safe at this point...what's the odds of getting hit a third time?

Hope everyone enjoyed the warm December. Looks like much of January will be below normal temps. Looking like I might have to put out a brass monkey alert soon. I'm not talking about the drink. :thumb:

Yesterday, New Years Day, it was in the mid 80's and the grandkids were out swimming in the pool. Today it's only 72.

Sunday morning update for next weekend

While some of us may see some snow showers on Monday. I'm still watching next weekend for our possible first winter weather event. As of now it really depends on the temps that will determine what type of winter precipitation we will get. The experimental 4-7 day outlook is now showing the possibilty of snow on Friday and Saturday. It's really impossible to say at the moment how much if any snow/freezing rain/rain we may get. Right now it looks like if any winter precipitation falls it will be mainly north of I-64 and maybe as far south as Berea.

I'm monitoring the situation and will post update as we get closer to the time period. Take care and have a great Sunday.

Sunday evening update

I've just checked 8-14 day temperature outlook. Starting around next weekend parts of Kentucky may start seeing temperatures 40-50% blow normal. Most of Kentucky see normal temps in the low to mid 40's for highs and low to mid 20s for lows. The arctic air looking to be over Kentucky from around the 10th to the 16th looks to be the coldest of the winter so far. Some may see temps as low around zero.

The precipitation is still showing for next weekend but at this time the type depends on timing of the arctic air mass and the low pressure system that will pass close to Kentucky.

As always I'm watching the situation and will post an update tomorrow.

Just a quick update.

As of now it looks like some in Kentucky maybe facing a sleet or icing event on Friday. The signs are pointing in that direction but please note that things are more likely than not to change between now and then.

I'll try and post an update later this evening.
