December 27, 20169 yr I read the Ken Stabler book by Mike Freeman. Title is "Snake." Good read about him.
December 27, 20169 yr I'm on the 5th (of 12, I believe) in the Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny. The BEST character development of any series I've ever read. Thus far, I'd rank them #4, #2, #3, then #1 last. Intelligently written, great lead character, multiple story-lines, and each "whodunit" thus far has been a fantastic tale of twists and turns. MUST be read in order.
December 28, 20169 yr Read Hillbilly Elegy over my Christmas vacation and it's deserving of all the praise it's gotten. It's part memoir and part sociology of Appalachian culture, warts and all. Found a lot of similarities between my family's trek up the "Hillbilly Highway" and the one Vance describes.
December 28, 20169 yr The boy with the red bandana. About a worker in the World Trade Center who was a volunteer fireman. Always had a red bandana with him that his father had given him. Apparently helped to save a bunch of lives of that fateful day.
December 29, 20169 yr Lee Child's Jack Reacher novel "Night School" is a solid read. I also finished a book about Hal Mumme and his impact on the current offenses used in college. It's called "Perfect Pass." Solid read.

Time is running out---after Jan 2nd it's back to grading papers every night until summer. :lol2:
