#99 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Not a good game for holy Cross at all. Not as many turn overs as the last game but struggled on defense. Allowed allot of open shots. Couldn't get the shots to fall either. Out rebounded. Bad night all around in my opinion
Bluechipper14 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Congrats for the Devils! Much talent and athleticism on that squad. Bad games happen every night all over the state, but Holy Cross would lose 7 of 10 competitions against Henry Clay. IMO. Factor quality talent and statistics. Those are available.
#99 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Does this mean the 9th is down this year? How did you get that?

Never said that what I'm saying is why holy Cross lost the game or is a better team than Henry Clay. Just stated facts about the way they played.
TAC Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 How did you get that? Just asking since Holy Cross is undefeated in 9th region play and has been a pleasant surprise. They also have beaten two of the 10ths better teams (which is also allegedly having an off year) but just took an 18 point defeat from Henry Clay and was beaten by another non NKY team the day before. So do you think the 9th is down a bit from previous years or not? Lots of talent has graduated. Several D1 players and many others playing in college.
Voice of Reason Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Does this mean the 9th is down this year? I am wondering the same thing. Newport's two most recent scores add to this thought that the 9th is down this year.
#99 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Maybe it is maybe it isn't. I'm not the one to say or verify that. According to some it's down all over ky.
Walter Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 There isn't a team in the 9th region that would beat Henry Clay this year. Covcath might play them closer than this but Henry Clay is VERY GOOD. This score shouldn't come as a surprise.
Justamom2 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I wonder why Barnes hasn't played much lately? He really plays great defense. I haven't seen him get much time in last few games.
frankdracman23 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I am wondering the same thing. Newport's two most recent scores add to this thought that the 9th is down this year. Newport is playing short-handed down this year as opposed to the most recent years. 9th has its share of "good" teams but lacks the "very good" teams of the last 3 years or so.
Qryche11 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 The 9th Region overall is pretty weak but in the end the team that represents the 9th Region in the state tourney will go down and likely compete very well. I still think its CovCath's region to lose. Games in December are really meaningless...its all about who is playing best heading into districts. That goes without saying though.
fan1620 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I could be wrong, but I did see Barnes down on the court against Scott with an apparent leg injury? I haven't seen a HC game since so I couldn't verify if he is back in action.
