Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli was arrested and grilled after a home raid Wednesday for allegedly lying about where she lived to avoid paying taxes on millions of dollars' worth of income, Agence France-Presse reported Thursday. She's further suspected of accepting free perks to the tune of “over a million shekels” — or more than $256,000 — in the form of luxury apartments registered in her mother and brother's names, as well as a Range Rover and a Lexus, Israel's Tax Authority said in a statement. The vehicles, which she received in exchange for allowing herself to be photographed in them, were apparently never registered in her name. Refaeli even had a contract agreement with the apartment complex's management that provided for news of her living there to be leaked to gossip sites, the Tax Authority alleged. The model's mom, Zipora, was also arrested on suspicion of evading taxes on “dozens of millions of shekels” worth of income from abroad. Both women are accused of lying about the model's residence to avoid paying up, as non-resident Israeli citizens aren't required to report income they earned abroad. Authorities raided the women's home Wednesday, and a court ordered their arrest and subsequent release on bail Thursday. Refaeli, 30, and Zipora reportedly had their passports confiscated and received a 180-day ban on leaving Israel without authorities' permission. The supermodel, who wed Israeli billionaire Adi Ezra in September, has denied the allegations, reports the BBC. “There is no drama. In the end, this is just a civil dispute,” her lawyer reportedly told the Israeli news site NRG. “No one cheated anyone else. It will all clear up soon.”
