December 27, 201510 yr Why not look at another UC guy in Helton? He's better than Dawson and could be better than Gran. Who is Helton? Brain cramp.....forgot about that Helton....
December 27, 201510 yr Okay' date=' why?[/quote'] Profootballscoops offensive coordinator of the year list. Offensive Coordinator – Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma – Seth Littrell, North Carolina – Chip Lindsey, Southern Miss – Tyson Helton, Western Kentucky Catching on now?
December 27, 201510 yr Profootballscoops offensive coordinator of the year list. Offensive Coordinator – Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma – Seth Littrell, North Carolina – Chip Lindsey, Southern Miss – Tyson Helton, Western Kentucky Catching on now? Not trying to be smart about it just wanting a explanation of why and who. Least that's some proof of qualification but how does he compare with the other candidate Eddie Gran? And would he leave for UK? Easy to throw bombs at candidates and not have a justification or better candidate to offer with a little proof to back it, thanks.

I'm an OSU fan and most of us want a new offensive coordinator as well. A few OSU stat guys I know wanted Riley last year, they punched in all the data/stats to find the new Riley this year and the data points directly to Helton. Maybe he's the next up and comer, maybe not.

December 28, 201510 yr Heck, why not just go after Indiana's co-offensive coordinators? Kevin Johns coaches the Qbs and wide receivers, the other Greg Frey works with the o-line.
December 28, 201510 yr There were 12 G5 schools this year with better offenses than Cincinnatti. WKU-Tyson Helton OC Bowling Green (coaches hired at Syracuse) Memphis (coaches hired at Virginia Tech) Tulsa (OC and OL hired at Texas) Houston (Staff just received a new raise and contract extension) Toledo (coaches hired at IowaSt) WMich Boise St Southern Miss (OC going to Arizona ST) Navy Georgia Southern I'm not in the camp of basing eveything off 1 season and pure stats but if I was the call should go to Tyson Helton. The underrated part is that every one of those 12 Schools have an offensive minded head coach.
December 28, 201510 yr @gametime have you heard anything new on Gran? There were some rumblings that he was going to turn down the job due to the qb situation. Now there are rumors that he is back on board and that UK will be getting a JUCO transfer. Some are saying the announcement could be made as soon as tomorrow.
December 28, 201510 yr JUCO is Justin Hansen who was a 2014 QB in Barker's class. He went to OU, then left to go JUCO.
December 28, 201510 yr JUCO is Justin Hansen who was a 2014 QB in Barker's class. He went to OU, then left to go JUCO. Correct. From what I understand he's a great get given the current qb depth. He was rated the #4 and #6 pro style qb by a couple of the larger recruiting services coming out of high school. Hopefully he's enough insurance at the qb spot to get Gran to close the deal as I'm also hearing we will likely keep Mac Jones if Gran is named OC.

December 28, 201510 yr Author Mitch Barnhart on KSR this morning said that Gran could be on board by tomorrow...
