December 15, 201510 yr Bengals fans have to be rooting for the Broncos in this one, don't they? A loss would make the Steelers playoff hopes much more grim. Regardless of outcome, the week 16 tilt between Cincinnati and Denver will determine which gets the 1st round bye. So who is everyone rooting for? Myself, even though the Patriots have owned Pittsburgh, am rooting for Denver. Seeing that offense in the postseason is something I want to avoid at all costs.
December 15, 201510 yr I am truly on the fence about this one. Pros and Cons on both sides. Sure, I'd love to see Pittsburgh on the outside looking in. But, on the other hand, I'd like to see the Bengals with that first round bye to allow players to heal.
December 15, 201510 yr Author ^I understand that, however the outcome of this game has zero impact on the 1st round bye. If Pittsburgh wins, and then the Broncos come back the next week and beat Cincy, they still have the bye. Winning in Week 16 is going to determine the 1st round bye.
December 15, 201510 yr Don't overthink this one. Unless you are Steelers fan, you root for the Broncos. I would rather take my chances against Brock Osweiler or whatever is left of Peyton Manning - with or without a bye - than go up against a two time Superbowl winning QB. It also increases the odds for Ryan Fitzpatrick and Alex Smith to be in the playoffs.
December 15, 201510 yr Keeping out Big Ben and the starting QB situation for the AFC playoffs may be Brady and a bunch of guys that have never won a thing, or if they have, they are playing on one leg.
December 15, 201510 yr There is no reason not to root for the Broncos if you are a Bengals fan. With that said I think the Steelers win comfortably and the Broncos go back to Manning for the Bengals game.

December 15, 201510 yr The Bengals will win the division if they beat Baltimore in Week 17, so the division is not a major issue. I hate to pull for Denver because I really want that 1st round bye, but I also want Pittsburgh to miss the playoffs.

I don't follow your logic, I think Bengals fans should root for the Steelers in this one. 1st, we want the highest seed possible. I hear what UK is saying about seeding but if the Broncos lose to both the Steelers and the Chargers even a loss to Denver doesn't seal our fate. 2nd, I want a scenario where the Steelers go to New England and beat the Pats so the AFC Championship game can be in Cincy. 3rd, we (okay, the Bengals) "need" to beat the Steelers in the rubber match. I know most of you may disagree but if I am the Bengals I want the Steelers again, preferably in the AFC Championship.
