Track the Reds (Second Half)

Todd Hollandsworth doesn't fall into any of those categories.

At least he's close....Denorfia is not.;)

Right handed .241 lifetime Denorfia who has done nothing in the outfield to impress vs left handed .273 lifetime Hollandsworth who is a solid outfielder. Again, I'll trust Krivsky and his track record while you guys second guess.

Nothing he's ever done impresses me. Denorfia at least has a shot at being a good MLB player, but Hollandsworth hasn't been solid since 02 and that was in Colorado.

Right now if you told me you'd rather see Chris Denorfia come off the bench and hit instead of Todd Hollandsworth...you are absolutely hopeless...

Batted .318 with eight HRs in 57 games in 2004 with the Cubs before he got hurt.

Also he has 22 postseason at bats -- which is 22 more than most of the Reds roster. Always a plus to add a veteran bat with a solid clubhouse presence.

I'd rather see Valentin be the LH PH and Denorfia be a defensive guy. Hollandsworth isn't worth a dime and hasn't been in years. Did you look at his numbers? They're awful.

That just doesn't impress me. He's getting older, he's not fast, and does not cover much ground. His OBP this year is 250!!! 97 career HR's and 23 were hit at Coors while he was in Colorado. I would have gone back further but his stats were severly inflated the 3 years at Coors. His 273 would be about 250 if it weren't for that.

It's a move. Not necessarily a bad one or a good one, but it's a move. I'm not impressed.

Hollandsworth also plays all three outfield positions and first base.

Are you implying Javy Valentin couldn't play CF in a pinch? Now you're just being unrealistic.

So he was hot 2 years ago.

Career 261 w/runners RISP

233 RISP/2 outs

A real clutch veteran who knows how to not get it done. He's hitting 133 as a PH this year. Solid

What's wrong with two left handed bats?

BTW, a simple "I'm hopeless" would've been sufficient...;)

Played first last year twice. Hasn't been there this year. He has 4 OF assists this year and that's 2 away from a career high.

I think my arguement for Hollandworthless not being very good is a strong one. I also don't think him or Denorfia are good options as your 4th OF. Especially if one gets injured.

Just because we've all heard of Hollandsworth doesn't make him good.

Let's clarify, not very good and better than what we have are two different things.

I said "good", not very good or great...just good. Like it or not, .273 is "good" in MLB.

Outside of CO he's done that 3 times. Once for 149 games (10 years ago), once for 92 games (7 years ago), and in 04 for 57 games. He above that all 3 years in CO. Plus he can't stay healthy.
