August 3, 200620 yr I hope that this is not "the beginning of the end" for us. The Reds imo need this home stand bad and it is sure not looking good right now.
August 3, 200620 yr One thing that helps is that the Phillies are leading the Cards 8-3 in the 7th. :irked:
August 3, 200620 yr Since the trade of Lopez and Kearns the Reds are averaging 4.3 runs a game. Before the trade they were averaging 5.1. Offensively, they have taken a hit. The bullpen has fared much better. The X factor is starting pitching. Ramirez should be nicknamed "Sybil" because of his stark contrasting performances on the hill. Arroyo is pitching like the back of his baseball card, as Lance likes to say. Harang is the only consistent starter we have had. Offensively, they need to start stringing some things together. What can they do? They need to settle into something lineup wise. Either play EE everyday or send him down. Aurilia needs to play everyday. This team is crying for Griffey to get hot. Dunn has done pretty well til tonight. Then ultimately, with the scoring down and pitching from the pen seemingly improving they have got to play better defense. Have got to.
