I always consider "Field of Dreams" and "Bull Durham" sports movies ... I put them at the top of my list.

Agree that Field of Dreams definitely hits my "got to watch it every time it's on" meter. Bull Durham doesn't quite make the cut for me.

So with others input, I update my favorite movies in order of "got to watch it every time it's on" meter.

1). Rudy.....football

2). The Natural.....baseball

3). We Are Marshall.......football

4). Field of Dreams.....baseball

5). Hoosiers.....basketball

6). Tin Cup......golf

 

Only one basketball movie that hits the scale. What's up with that? Come on Hollywood, there has got to be some great stories out there. How about the Manute Boi(sp?) story as a starter?

Blue Chips tops my list. Love and Basketball also way up there. Air Bud is just behind Space Jam in the not as good as I remember the being category.

Significant for the story it told, the impact it had when released, and the back story of a black-listed writer and producer who put it out under fictitious names, but was still classified as communist for starring Poitier and never worked in Hollywood again.
