December 15, 201510 yr Tough time of the year for me this year. My mom and mother in law passed away this summer and first Thanksgiving and Christmas without them.
December 15, 201510 yr I was until this weekend. Saturday my wife and daughter made Christmas Candy most of the day. Sunday I taught a Sunday School Class where we discussed various Christmas Specials and Movies, focusing on three of my favorites...How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Cartoon not that Jim Carrey abomination), It's a Wonderful Life and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Then Sunday Night we had our Christmas program at Church where the Children and some Adults sang, performed some instrumental music and a few adults spoke about their childhood Christmas past. Tonight we attended my wife's work Christmas get together...so I'm pretty much full into Christmas mode now.

December 21, 201510 yr Author I'm finally coming around. Did a little Christmas shopping this weekend, maybe the chill in the air helped. Watched the Santa Clause Friday Night too.
December 21, 201510 yr Yep, and really not sure why. Lost my dad 3 months ago yesterday, but I don't think that is really preventing me from getting in the spirit. Here it is Dec 21st and no tree up at the house, no lights, nada. Just don't seem to have it this year.
December 24, 201510 yr Having a 5 year old naturally puts you in the mood Yessir, it does. Miss those days sometimes.
December 24, 201510 yr Today im the grinch, lol. If you didnt want to work today, then take a vacation day today like the rest of the darn company did, dont come in and cackle about it, and dont grip because you didnt have any more days left to take off today, have better day off management skills.

December 26, 201510 yr Yessir, it does. Miss those days sometimes. Get both ends of the spectrum as the boys get 1 surprise gift now and they react pretty childlike still which is cool.

I understand what your posting. Yesterday my wife and I were visiting cemeteries when we saw that McDonald's was open. So we stopped in for a bite and wished the folks Merry Christmas. I want to tell you the vibe I got from them was not great. They all looked like they did NOT want to be there and when that's the case, the attitude comes across to the customer.
