Some day when all the kids are grown, Mr. Cat and I will be escaping to a beach at Christmas and forgetting all the chaos and anxiety that comes with the season!

 

Spending Christmas time on a beach is really odd, but incredibly enjoyable. I was in St. Lucia last year during Christmas time all the way up until Christmas Eve, and there's something really relaxing about walking around seeing Christmas lights and hearing Christmas music while it's 85 and sunny. :lol2:

I want to be the guy that hangs the lights in those palm trees in the Corona beer commercial. Then sit back and admire my work with a Corona of course.

This is why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. No gift giving stress!

yep...every year for the last 5-6.

My wife and I are in this boat a bit. I think it's partly because our youngest is 22 and none of the three have spawned grandchildren. So we're in between eras of kids getting excited. Plus my wife's family is not local which I know impacts her a bit. Sounds like it's not just us.

Killing me with the weather we are having. Where is the snow?????????

 

How can Santa come if no snow.

Considering the fact that I could and probably should mow my yard, AGAIN....likewise...it doesn't seem like Christmas time.

 

Then, this weekend they are calling for some April/May like storm front aren't they?

I'm not feeling it all right now either. Some of it has to do with the weather, although I'm not complaining.

I'm trying. I really am. Feast of the Imaculate Conception helped last night. Few things hit me the way going to mass in a dark church with lots of candle light does.

 

Work is bringing me back out of it. I'm watching the UD basketball game with a stack of papers I'm trying to read through before tomorrow in my lap.

Considering the fact that I could and probably should mow my yard, AGAIN....likewise...it doesn't seem like Christmas time.

 

Then, this weekend they are calling for some April/May like storm front aren't they?

 

Saw a downtown business owner in Bardstown today out mowing the front lawn of his B'n'B in slacks, dress shoes and an Oxford. A co-worker mentioned it didn't look like he was breaking a sweat, but still.

Glad I wasn't the only one! Guilty.

 

I mowed mine today...at almost the highest level....AND it cut plenty.

 

You always remember that first time....mowing the grass in December.

Money's been tight, so I've not gotten a chance to do any shopping yet other than a nice stocking-stuffer for my old man.

 

The closest I've come to the seasonal spirit is enjoying the 3-Ho's Christmas Ale from Country Boy Brewing, which is quite good.
