Scott 100 George Rogers Clark 98 (OT)

I am not suggesting they will win every game, or win the state, or even the region .... But right now Scott's win-loss record could not possibly be any better.

Good thing they get a lot of shots up because defense doesn't look to sound with all of the points they give up. What kind of shooting percentage has Scott had this season?

If they have a shooting off night, they could be in trouble.

What about Clark giving up 100, and Pendleton County giving up 92? Doesn't look as though Scott is the only team giving up a lot of points.

Every team should practice free throw shooting heavily. From the early season trend there's going to be a ton of free throws shot with all the whistles being blown. This could affect the scores being higher this season as well

Also, both games have gone to overtime which inflates the score some. With Scott's lack of size, and abundance of athleticism, expect them to run and play a lot of uptempo. That's going to result in high scoring. Scott usually does play good, aggressive defensive.

I would try to get an answer for you but apparently the newspaper outlets in both areas didn't know the game was even played....

Nor did either team report stats to KHSAA

Congrats to Mr.Ohmer!

Scott would have to report the number of shots taken by Ohmer, not GRC.

I kind of find it irresponsible and demeaning that the first reaction of so many when they see a point total is to assume that no defense is being played' date=' as if to imply that the players involved are not really outstanding players, it is just that the other side didn't defend well. That may or may not be the case; I do not think it is here, because Jake Ohmer is the real deal. But I digress. The highest scoring game I ever witnessed personally in high school was Holmes getting beat by Bryan Station 104-102. There were at least three, and maybe four D1 players on the floor of that game, including perhaps the best player to ever come out of Northern Kentucky, Dicky Beal, and I heard the same "no defense" chatter about that game. Sometimes guys are just so good offensively that they are difficult to stop. It happens. Congratulations Jake on averaging over 40 points a game thus far in the season. I for one am a fan.[/quote']

Ohmer is LEGIT and a great scorer. Fun to watch.

However, Scott gives up a lot of points. It's just what they do now. Some teams try to grind. Scott sees if you can keep up.

Who looks to be Clark's scorers after the first few games?

I would think a newspaper reporter/editor at the game might ask?

They probably didn't have it available from the coaches or at the scorer's table.

21/31 FG 7/8 FT

This was a very fast paced, high turnover game by both teams. Most points came off of fast breaks. Not to mention the OT. Easy to explain why the game was high scoring...
