How many points has SW's first string defense given up? I think FS's TD in the playoffs was, and maybe John Hardin's or JPII's, but were there any more?

Where else could you have went for $7 and got to have seen such a good looking team to watch? Sounds like you were only there banking on a SW loss. Come jump on the wagon with the rest of them . It's not too late

Not very many. John Hardin, I think Warren Centrals score, Pope John Paul, Franklin Simpson as well as Central Hardin's field goal were all virtually scored on starting D. JV and Freshman have given up the other points and most of them have been on broken plays.

The defense has been what has set south up for the last 3 years.

The Warren Central score was against the 2nd string... The scored on the first pass play they ran after SW took out all their starting DB's.

I was waiting to see your response on here. I kind of thought when you called SW an overrated no passing team that you would be craw fishing on those words . Looked for you at our tailgating? Glad to see you man up and admit you were wrong . SC fans showed up big and in good fashion . Everyone I talked to from SC were very nice and equally excited for their team . Good luck to SC in the up coming years

Are you for real? Banking on a loss? I was there because I thought I'd see a decent game, and had skipped the region final that I knew would not be. Pre-playoffs, I had the margin of this game at roughly 35. After the John Hardin game, I was thinking a couple of scores. When I say I wish I'd have saved the $7, it's merely a reference that I went expecting a decent game, and got a bludgeoning. I've seen South Warren, I know how dominant they are, and I don't need to spend money just to get a refresher!

I am on the wagon of people who think South Warren is an absolutely dominant force. I did not and do not expect them to lose. I want them to win. What more would you request?

I've been told on the year the starting D + starters w/ some backups mixed in (not all) have given up 36-43 points. For the year. The starting D has given up only 403 yards on the ground all year along. Almost every bit of success any team has had against them came against their backups. No team in 4A, and probably almost no team in the state (maybe literally none), could beat them solely on the ground. Shelby County would never have crossed midfield against the first team. A turnover would have been the only way, and they didn't get it.

No running clock in championship games.

Are you making a prediction?

Because if that's an actual rule -- no running clock -- I can't find that caveat/asterisk in any KHSAA handout.

EDIT

Went back and looked. Trinity-Dixie Heights had a running clock in last year's 6-A state final:

http://usatodayhss.com/2014/watch-live-trinity-vs-dixie-heights-in-class-6-a-championship-game

"The Colonels allowed Trinity to post 540 yards of offense, and much of the second half was played with a mercy-rule running clock when Trinity took a 47-6 lead."

"Brooks added two more touchdowns in the third quarter, the latter coming on a 28-yard pass from Young that made it 47-6 at the 4:38 mark and started the running clock."

No, not a prediction. For some reason I was thinking there wasn't a running clock rule in the championship games. I was imcorrect

I think the confusion comes in when they take the media timeouts and the refs follows the rule to a T In the state finals.

If you Look at the rules and notes on KHSAA web page you'll see a bunch of reasons and circumstances to stop the clock that sometimes are not followed completely during the season.

If you read the rule it basically DOES NOT STOP (keeps running) for incomplete passes, out of bounds, first downs and change of possession.

It stops on scores, remains stopped for PAT's, then started at ready for play on kickoffs, stops for assessment of penalties, any and all timeouts (injury, team, official, and media). Hope this helps.

If SW is that much better, JC will know. But with the miracles this post season...we do not quit. You'll have to kill us.

Has Jacob showed back up? Given him a couple of days, he made a bold prediction that SW was overrated. Shelby has a really nice team, but SW is on a different level defensively.

South Warren is one of the best defensive teams I have seen in years!! They will dominate the state game
