No way it's a 4 or more td score ... this will be like a 12 point game either way but imma pull for coach Meyer's panthers in the rain .. rvill used to give us fits with their speed.. if that's still the case watch out.. they had a large full back one year that could pack five guys , he was fun to try to control..

A matchup that has been expected all year. 1A #1 Beechwood travels to western Kentucky to take on #4 Russellville Panthers. These teams do have one thing in common - both have been unable to get past Mayfield in recent years as they pursue 1A title hopes. Russellville has perennially been the regional final loser to the Cardinals and Beechwood has lost the next week. This year both teams are hoping they are the western bracket heir to the state title game.

 

This looks like a very tough matchup for Beechwood. Russellville is a run focused offense and Beechwood has struggled at times defending those types of teams this year. The Tigers also will need to get their offense back on track after having perhaps their worst offensive performance of the season in last week's playoff win versus Louisville Holy Cross.

This game won't be close, Beechwood by as many as they want. The reason I say that is, They just beat Campbellsville 38-36 in their playoff game. Danville crushed Campbellsville, they looked terrible.

When Russellville played in 3A I remember warren east drilled them when they were really down. I believe one year that was the only game east won. If I recall correctly, Russellville went on to the region championship and gave Paducah Tilghman all they wanted and more in a very close game. Tilghman went on the win state that year. My point is previous games don't mean much at this point in the season. It's all about this week. None of the other games matter anymore. Jusy curious, has beechwood went up against any Wing T teams this year?

I believe Bellevue ran the Wing T this year. Beechwood shut them out. I don't recall anyone else running the Wing T.
