With the defensive struggle this one is shaping up to be, a field goal or two may make the difference. How is DS's placekicker?

Does anyone for DeSales understand how difficult a win is at War Memorial? It hasn't happened in a playoff game since 1997. Not saying it cant happen but a close game goes to Mayfield..DS better hope for a blowout cause a close one goes to MF at home.

Better not happen.. I've dished out a lot of change over the years to those guys in stripes.. :sssh:

Turkey in the brine. Woods chips soaking in bourbon. Cash for the wife so she can shopping. A few more hours of work and nothing but food, drink, and football ahead. Remember my theory, everytime I get drunk for a game, Mayfield wins. I will once again do my part for the team. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, be safe. GO BIG RED!

I don't know anything about Murray's line, but even the 6-A schools we played were talking about how big our line was. RG and RT over 300, RG is 315 and agile (pulling guard). Center is about 230-240. LG about the same as center. LT is 6'7", not sure of his weight but I would guess 250-260. D-line is a little smaller but not much. We've got big boys up front. We have honestly had some issues with good D-lines, but the coaches have worked on this endlessly the past few weeks. The same CAL D-line that ate our lunch the first time around got absolutely manhandled by our guys in the rematch. They are the key to the game in my opinion.

Great point and great question Diesel. Our QB is also the punter and the PK. Excellent in all three. He is good from 40-plus on a dry field, although it seems that won't matter much Friday if the forecast holds....

Question: are we playing Desales or the Chicago Bears? That is a HUGE line, and you are correct about the line being the key. It always is. We have some talented playmakers in space, but if they can't find a hole to hit, it's about as good as having a Ferrari in rush hour traffic. Obviously, our line is nowhere near that size, so we rely on speed and technique. We are accustomed to playing big lines. We rarely play any small schools before district play, preferring to go up against the big boys from 3-6A, but I don't think we have faced a line that big this year. Luckily, heart isn't measurable in pounds or inches. Our boys got heart. I can't freaking wait for this one. This has the making of a GREAT game.

Either way, this game breaks the internet Friday Night!!!

How in the world did CAL score 19 points on that vaunted dominating defense? Must have been turnovers by the Colts, a short field, kickoff/punt return, by chance, some other fluke of the bouncing ball.. No way another HS team within 5 states could score that many on the Colts without a lot of help, right?

I see ya big show. All I have heard for a year from people outside the Desales program is, Mayfield is coming, my response has always been, Bring it! We fear no one and Cardinal nation will see why tomorrow night.

Then i guess Mayfield gets lucky cause they don't play till friday. :)

Go Cards! My 2nd favorite team. Wish we still played you guys.

If you mean Beechwood, we do too. Always a great game.

Guess I'm getting ahead of myself. It's been a long week.
