And this would be why you sit in the stands, play on BGP and are not on the sidelines with a headset. Why the in world would Cooper not go for two? Footing was a mess, and no not because Cooper watered down the field, kicker has appendix surgery yesterday, and with no time outs left the odds of Cooper getting the ball back were slim to none with less than a minute remaining. Borchers made the right call and the execution just failed.

 

Congrats to SK for making the extra play when they had to but Cooper has nothing to be ashamed of. So many doubters all season about how they couldn't compete in 6A yet they proved how to get as much as they possibly could out of team that every game they were outsized and out-manned with 8-9 players going both ways. Just proves how good Coach Borchers and staff really are.

You might want to check your math or history. Cooper is only in it's 8th year and while they played twice this year and once last year there were several years prior where they did not play at all. Yep, Cooper hasn't beaten SK yet but I'll take the 2 regional championships, a regional runner-up trophy and a State Runner-up trophy in 8 years as steps in the right direction.

Yet I still won't say anything negative about the SK program and still will wish them well the rest of the way.

Oh my is this region bad. Someone had to win.

Great game by two great teams. In games like this is always sad to see someone lose because both teams left it on the field tonight. Cooper imo had a great game plan tonight defensively and offensivley. They did a great job mixing up the run and pass and did great job stopping a great SK offense. SK did a great job too and made one more play than Cooper at the end to win this game.

 

I loved the decision to go for two by Cooper at the end. You are three yards away from winning the game. I love the decision and playcall, Simon Kenton just did a great job defending it. This was a great football game and very exciting to witness.

 

Great game by both teams and the seniors at Cooper you all have had an amazing career. Also good luck to Simon Kenton the rest of the way.
