November 18, 201510 yr The problem with the Obama strategy is ISIS understands one thing, power. Obama is unwilling to show the might of the USA. He's afraid he will offend someone. Bottom line is he is a lame duck POTUS with no stomach to do anything about ISIS.

November 18, 201510 yr I thought we were going to sit it out and let Russia and France do the dirty work. We've known for the last couple of years that ISIS was producing oil and selling it on the black market for millions each week and yet with all of the military power that we have we decided to not strike their oil production facilities. A handful of cluster bombs and they wouldn't have any oil to sell and it would eliminate close to half a billion per year in revenue for ISIS. This, oh so this.
November 18, 201510 yr I read this earlier today: https://foreignpolicy.com/2015/11/16/the-gloves-are-coming-off-in-the-u-s-war-against-the-islamic-states-oil/ Saw that too, bout time
November 18, 201510 yr One point I think we can agree on after the King of Jordan did it. It's ok to call them what they are Islamic extremist. No one is saying all Muslims are terrorists. Part of solving a problem is understanding the problem. We know a majority of all terrorism in recent years comes from an extreme toxic sect of the Muslim faith. We need to recognize it , diagnose it, and fix the problem. If other Muslim leaders such as the King of Jordan recognizes it we need to as well. I'm a Christian and when people call some Christian bible thumpers I get what they mean and don't think they are talking about me. We can call out a section of a faith without accusing the entire faith. I don't know why but the PC wording and I ability to call it what it is bugs me.
November 18, 201510 yr Awesome glad the Russians and French are doing something that affects their backyard. They didn't want to help us when we invaded Iraq!!! In all honesty, Let's play it like WWI. If they can't get the job done then we will be there otherwise good luck fellas.
November 18, 201510 yr Or he is getting faulty intelligence and making decisions as a result of that. If he's getting faulty intelligence, is it due to his advisers wanting it to fit HIS policy or is it faulty due to bad intel? There is a difference. The faulty intel has been blamed on the former. Neither has anything to do with ISIS understanding only power and force.

November 18, 201510 yr Sounds like Nam too... Not exactly. ISIS doesn't have the backing of a superpower (Russia) and emerging superpower (China).
