Franklin-Simpson 48 Madisonville-North Hopkins 23

Featured Replies

I personally think the Wildcats knock off Hoptown next week. They certainly have a great shot.

Halftime score was 21-17. FS took control on both sides of the ball in the third quarter. Madisonville's last TD was against FS JV/Fr.

FS rolled up nearly 400 yds rushing.

Stepping up in competition next week.

FS always has a good run offense..great program..congrats

Terrible season for the maroons, bring back weaver

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't Madisonville graduate 18/19 (or more) of 22 starters of their 2014 team? Madisonville will be fine.

Definitely not the same Madisonville team that came to Franklin last year. Madisonville had several 20+yard pass plays but not much in the running game. Maroons first drive consisted of a 50+ yard pass and a 28 or so yard TD pass on 4th and 17. 2nd score came immediately after FS muffed a punt inside its own 30 on another nice pass. Good drive at the end of the half got the Maroons a field goal.

Their defense only stopped FS twice as the Wildcats got TDs on all other drives. Madisonville had a good QB and receivers but FS dominated the line of scrimmage. FS scored on its first 2nd half possession then the FS defense pressured the QB and forced 2 fumbles which the offense turned into scores. Went from 21-17 at the half to 42-17 at the end of the 3rd.

FS beats Hoptown Friday night.
Most said 3-8 Warren Central would beat Hoptown. They didn't. Franklin with their up and down play all season will not beat a 10-1 Hoptown at the Stadium of Champions.

Your season ends Friday night. FS is putting it together at the right time. Their defense is clicking and their offensive line is blocking better. Their up and down play is based on their youth, these kids are growing up. With all their young talent, sophomores and Juniors starting at every position, Cats win!

Then SOUTH WARREN and the best defense in the state waits for them.

Good to see Doug Preston and his Wildcats get the win.

I don't think a 15-9 result over said 3-8 team should give you confidence in Hoptown. Some said Central would win, and more said they had a good chance. They did have a good chance, and they nearly did win. Hopkinsville had 92 yards of offense. That does not inspire me to say with confidence that they will win. The only thing in their favor this week compared to last is that now they have played a team capable of pushing back, which they had not experienced in quite some time. We'll see if that's enough.

As far as I'm concerned, that 10-1 record is not indicative of a whole lot.
