This will be nice for all Newportonians. Now all of the Newport teams , including soccer, can play at their school on a nice, soft field.

The baseball coach has to be excited as well.

We are Newportians. :thumb:

Im not sure what they will raise it to but it will be a considerable amount compared to the peanuts they have been paying to use it.

I doubt it.
I doubt it.

From what the AD has been saying there will be some big changes. Im not sure how they had the money from the concessions set up with NC, but I hear that NHS is gonna start taking a cut of that too.

The AD at newport has ZERO to do with it.

NCC brings their own concessions down to the field every game. So they will not get a cut of that either.

They need to raise the cost up for the Breds considering how much money we had to pay last year to play one measly game on Highlands turf.

How do those two things relate?
I doubt it.

What other options are there for the Breds? I guess you could build your own field (expensive) or could see if something could be worked out with CovCath, but my guess is that anywhere else you looked to play (and I would think it would have to be at a school with a field turf type field) would also be just as expensive as any thing you are going to get from Newport.

As for the amount Highlands charges, Highlands is required by contract with the non profit corporation that raised the money to put in the field turf, to charge all users of the field (other than for Highlands School District activities and for the Ft. Thomas Jr. Football League) a set price per hour to use the facility and to cover security and clean up expenses. Don't be mad at the school for what you thought was an excessive price, be mad at the President of the non profit corporation.....oh wait, that's me!

Man, I was just getting ready to bash you...

j/k LN. It's done correctly in Ft. Thomas, that's for sure.

They relate because NCC basically uses our field for free and we had to pay alot of money to use Highlands field one time. I understand how Highlands has to charge a set price but how come I'm getting nailed for saying NCC should have to pay more to use the nice facility.

I believe the stadim was built in the 30's, should be a nice place to play with the renovations.

I dont blame the people that charge the fee to use the field at Highlands, if you can charge that much and still have people want to use it then why not. Im just saying it aint cheap to use that field thats for darn sure.

That may be so but we'll see how much control they keep having of it. There will be more changes to things than you think down there.

It was a great thing tonight. The new field will have black endzones with Newport in one and the other with Wildcats. At mid field it will have a BIG red and black N. I looked at a print of what it will look like. CONGRATS, Long time coming for Newport High School. THe heavey equipment will be there tomorrow and start. I hope to get pictures of it.
