Saw this article that claims the Seventh Day Aventists teach that the US govt will team with the Catholic Church and the Pope (the antichrist) and THAT will bring the second coming of Christ.

They say that Dr Carson has never been questioned as to him sharing this belief or not.

 

Could be interesting as we get closer to the primaries.

Maybe off topic, but I'm totally ignorant in the 7DA belief system. I know they treat the Sabbath differently. But I can say that I know 4 of them personally, and 3 of them are black. Is the church predominantly black or is that my ignorant perception?

^nevermind, this is the first thing that popped up on a google search, not sure of any of the validity but maybe it answers my question.

And that is one of the major reasons that the 7DA is considered a cult.

 

It would be interesting if someone puts him on the spot and ask him what he believes.

I think this question is legit. Why is it racist to question Obama's religion and not Carson's ?

So...Carson tries to downplay his religion's beliefs by saying he doesn't necessarily accept the Adventists' "fantastical view of things".

At the same time, this is the cat who is one of the most outspoken anti-Islamic candidates out there and refuses to accept that not all Muslims take the Koran's passage about "taking up arms against those forces which seem to threaten Islam" literally.

I don't think anyone is questioning what religion Carson belongs to, some want to know if he agrees with his 7DA on a few issues.

It goes to my point. When people asked if Obama agreed with a Reverend spewing anti America and racist sentiments for 20 years it was deemed racist.

We have been studying Daniel in a special men's bible study on Saturday mornings the past few weeks, and we talked about this very thing a couple weeks ago...I actually brought it up. Some believe (interpret the bible) to say the anti-Christ will be the Pope, that Rome will be the leader of the "10 power nation" and that supposedly the Pope will be the one to make a covenant with Israel to rebuild and worship in the Temple and break that covenant after 3 1/2 years.

 

What came out of our discussion was that is would more than likely be someone associated with Islam from a predominantly Muslim nation...who better to strike/broke a deal with that hotly contested area that seemingly would be a good deal for Israel? Now who that person will be who knows. But, if you believe in "pre tribulation rapture", Christians won't be around to see it anyway. That is a hotly debated topic itself within the Christian church.

 

I had never studied Daniel anywhere near this closely...it's a very interesting book and very closely related to Revelations.

I thought you were asking a question that you said was legit. But, no, you were making a point, albeit one I think is based on stuff you made up in your head.

 

Okay, so prove it up. People asked Obama about his relationship with Jeremiah Wright and you saw the people who asked this were "deemed racist." That is the basis of your question/point. Prove that. I am sure if you are correct, and not just making it up, that there will be many articles in the news where people called fox news commentators "racist" for questioning President Obama on this point. I would like to see the original articles deeming the issue "racist," not just some talking points article floated around in conservative misinformation websites now.

Funny. I thought people were saying that because Obama knew an anti-American and racist preacher that he was a racist anti-American president. I guess folks remember things how they want to remember them.
