lol. CAL always beats us in the regular season. Now when it's on the line in the playoffs its a different story.

In order for mayfield to not win the championship, someone would have to upset them at home...a task that only one team has accomplished sense 2007..it's possible but......Extremely Unlikely!!.war memorial IMO is the toughest place for visiting teams to win..

Mayfield will not be playing in the championship game at home...Mark it down.lol...

Wow, not a single person excludes Mayfield from the final four. While I am unfamiliar with the teams in the west, I'm surprised that nobody threw Murray in there just to be different. From what I read, they gave the Cardinals all they wanted in the regular season matchup.

They could make the semifinals and I wouldn't consider it a big surprise this year. I think it's up in the air now between them, New Cath, and Cov Holy Cross.

Wow, not a single person excludes Mayfield from the final four. While I am unfamiliar with the teams in the west, I'm surprised that nobody threw Murray in there just to be different. From what I read, they gave the Cardinals all they wanted in the regular season matchup.

 

I would assume there are several reasons for this: 1. Murray has only beaten the Cards once since the early 1970's and it seems to give off what I like to call the "ColtPride Effect" as in his belief that CAL can't beat DS when it counts, 2. Mayfield is getting healthier than when they played Murray earlier. 3. Murray would have to come to Mayfield's War Memorial Stadium, a place that seems to have a reputation as being very hard to beat the Cards who have only lost there 1 time since 2008. Finally, MF has been on a good run of late even by their lofty standards having been to the title game every dating back to 2009 and only losing 7 games in that span so I think people have just got use to MF doing it. That said make no mistake that Murray is very capable of doing it. CAL and DS are also very good. CAL scares me more than DS from what I saw watching the 2 play. I have seen them play but I am sure that OC, Danville and a couple of others are also really good. I do honestly believe that when I take off my Cardinal glasses, which I do not like to take off, that I see 6 or 7 teams that I think have a legit shot though I think the best chances are MF, CAL, DS, OC and Danville.
