Your right....A blocked pass and a tip to yourself deserves its own "Title" That was impressive to see Trent Johnson tip the ball to himself and then take it to the house.

I also questioned some of the play calls for CC. Highlands only got 1 offensive touchdown and a FG and they were lucky to be hanging around. The Camels should've eaten up more clock with a one score lead. Big game for CC #26 WR Terhaar. I believe he had 4 receiving TD's. That kid is smooth. QB #12 Helton threw 2 gorgeous TD's and moved the chains with a couple 3rd/4th down runs. The defense was bolstered by another fine performance by DE #13 Lawrence. DE #80 Kremer came up big and made some critical plays when needed. LB #37 Anderson was all over the field and made plays all night.

I thought two or three of the Highlands players were slightly unsportsmanlike for the majority of the game and it caught up with them at the end when in my opinion the refs finally called it on Highlands in part as a make up call for the poor decision to call a late hit on Campbell on the last drive. I could tell from Frank's body language he didn't agree with the late hit call and I believe that one was the righteous make up call. I am sure some of you will call hogwash but those two calls did equal out.

 

I'm not disputing the 15 harder against HHS at the end. Just the spot of the foul. Can anyone clarify my Question earlier?

Clearly that boy got some good coaching before he stepped on the field with the frosh team.

I agree Highlands was aggressive, well coached, opportunistic, and forced the turnovers but Campbell was just as guilty of being sloppy with ball. Besides some of the ill advised passes several of the Campbell players looked like they have not been coached properly on how to hold, secure, and run with the football in their hands.

I didn't think about the ref's call being a possible makeup call. That would make sense. The earlier late hit call was a terrible one.

Campbell's QB had some very nice throws tonight but he will have to Tighten up his throws into tight coverage. The Competition factor is going to start slamming shut and throws he thinks he can make will no longer be there. They will be throws going the other way. Tonight he proved the Door was still open....

Agree but the coaches asked so so much of him throwing ball.

 

However, as critical as I have been of the Campbell Frosh coaches I really like the fact they (in several games I have watched) have worked on their passing game with the QB vs. having him run the ball so much. You guys deserve a lot of credit for that.

 

I also want to say I love how Campbell's defense swarms to the ball and gang tackles, very impressive.

Good freshmen game. Camels gave the ball back too many times, and The Birds were snake bit with penalties. Camels are BIG, and for the most part, they contain well. Camels got to the Birds QB several times. Camels QB, #12 Andrew Helton, is as good as advertised. I was very impressed with the young man. Birds defense score twice. The Camels held the Birds offense to 10 points . No injuries on the field tonight. Good win for the Camels.

The Highlands runner was well still in bounds when the Campbell player drilled him. Was not a very good call but hey we will take it.

And I agree Highlands has talent in the pipeline. Those kids tonight playing for Highlands are the real deal.
