Just diagnosed in August and supposedly very treatable, Saunders (60) passes away today from cancer.

Sucks, seemed like a really good guy from what everyone says about him. RIP...

His frosh roomie was Tony Dungy.

He had been in a coma for six weeks and developed pneumonia.

Hard to believe the media didn't leak this. The last I heard his cancer had a good success rate.

He was actually first diagnosed in June but it was made public in August. At first, it was expected that he would fully recover. Cancer sucks.

Holy crap. I knew he had cancer, but from everything that was said, it seemed very treatable.

So so sad.

Tweets over the last month indicated it could be very serious.

Just horrible. It won't be during my lifetime but I hope during my kids' lifetime we find a cure for cancer...or at least most forms of it...

I was watching last night, and before the game they had about a 25 minute tribute to Flip. Dude was loved by the T-Wolves' organization. Kudos to the Trailblazers which waited until 7:38 before opening tip.
