If the same defense shows up we will need two qbs and two balls on the field to keep up.

A QB controversy at this point in the season will do more harm than good.

There are too many pieces of the puzzle missing to believe that a qb switch will fix everything.

Even if you put Tom Brady in at qb, our defensive line would still be swiss cheese.

I wonder if we are playing flag football where we have to give the qb 4 seconds before we rush.

I am pretty sure they were going on five Mississippi

Do you think that's why he was benched? To protect him from hits late in a game?

I am a Towles guy way more than I am a UK guy (heck, I wish he'd picked a different school to attend). But, it is hard to walk away from the MSU game with the notion that Stoops has full confidence in Towles, given that he benched him in the game.

When New England got pounded by Kansas City last season I don't recall Brady getting benched...

Do you have any idea what you're talking about? If you look at both the offense and defensive units late in the MSU it was the majority of 2nd team guys. According to your logic Boom may not be the starting RB either since he was "benched" with Towles.

The QB position is least of the staff concerns. How about a 6'7 360lb DT who thinks he's still starting at John Hardin as opposed to an SEC school?

I think MSU was/is the best team on UK schedule this year, similar to LSU last year. Hopefully they can regroup and have a much better showing than they did in Starkville. If the se defense that showed up against MSU shows up against UT a similar result will occur.

Tennessee 24-20.

UT by 10. I think that being at home and the rivalry will keep it close but in the long run the team with the more talented depth will win. Hope I am wrong, would be sweet to beat this bunch.

It's UK football. Who really knows. Hoping the Cats take care of business in this one.

UT D gives up 411 yards per game.

Please educate me. Why did the coaching staff pull Towles in the game? What purpose did it serve? Was it to protect Towles from suffering an injury late in a game that was no longer in doubt? Was it to give the coaching staff the opportunity to see how Barker would perform in a real game, in order to help determine who the starting QB should be going forward in the season? If Barker would have come out and played outstanding would he have played his way into the starting lineup next week, or is the starting spot Towles' no matter what at this point? What was the reasoning behind the benching?

What was the reasoning behind the benching?

I thought it was because the game was out of reach and they wanted Barker to get some reps.

Last night was really the only opportunity of the season for Barker to get time. All the other games have been close. I think Stoops thought Barker was going to play against Louisiana and EKU.
