I know where that comes from up here. Many feel Shining Star players preferential treatment with awards, etc. Not saying I agree or disagree. Just filling in the blanks for ya!!

What does playing for the shining stars have to do with any of this?

 

They are a well respected organization. Players play in major AAU tournaments throughout the state and country allowing the ladies to get great exposure. They get exposure to scouts, coaches and those that make the rankings.

She is a nice addition to Boone but isn't their best player. Sydney Foster who was on the All Regional Tournament Team last year leads the Lady Rebels. She flies under the radar because of all the attention that Switzer and Ford received (deservedly so) last year. Boone will be better than most are giving them credit for.

I'm excited to see Davenport play. She seems to always play with great energy and I enjoy getting to see her play.

Bias of course, but I'd like to think Paige Noble from St. Henry would be in the top 10 mix.

 

Don't get Notre Dame at #4. Top 10 maybe- but certainly the lower half. We'll soon see.

 

I think ND is the 10th Team . I would move Conner in front of Cooper and Boone this year also. Conner goes deeper on the bench with more speed. Don't be surprised if the top 2 teams get bumped by seasons end . Paige Noble is a Top 10 player in the region this year.

No disrespect at all, I LOVE her energy, heart and motor. But I just don't see her pushing any of these kids out to take their place. Maybe she just hasn't performed her best when I've seen her play. So that's just my opinion.

Excited to see Carly Lang play this year after watching her play this summer. I saw a lot of improvement in her game from where she was last April.

How is HC ranked #5 preseason? They graduated 3 starters and probably 4 of their top 7 players. They lost all of their size with the twins graduating. Is Kes going to switch to an uptempo game this season? If not, I don't see how they will be anywhere near what they had last year.

I saw that other (closed) thread about the elementary school attendance going up but I don't see those kids playing varsity. If there are kids coming into the high school, I thought they had to sit out a year if they had already played varsity at another school.

 

Speaking of that other thread, HC elementary/middle school only has one class for each grade and they try to keep each class at 25 students. I have also heard that they have a waiting list for some grades. All said, the 8th grade is now at 28 students which is their max. If this is true, makes you wonder where those most recent 3 students were on the waiting list.
