Blue Jays - Rangers Game 5

Featured Replies

I think the bat flip was awesome. And I also would fully expect Rangers to plunk him during his first AB against them next year. And I'd have no problem with that either.

Baseball purists needs to get over themselves. If they had it their way, the game would be dead for the younger generations.

Sorry, he didn't stare him down.

He watched the ball go out, made a glance at the the pitcher (probably to see his reaction), flipped his bat, and took off for first.

See absoluetly nothing wrong with what he did.

:sssh: One of the coolest things I've seen in sports.

The "purists" are ruining the game for younger generations.

Not to mention their logic is warped. How dare you celebrate a huge moment in a postseason game. That kinda stuff is just unacceptable.

While at the same time, saying "Let's drill that guy next time he comes up. That'll show him." Perfectly acceptable in their eyes.

The irony of the purists me laugh at out loud. Excellent post.

But we have a rulebook that gives us a set of instruction as to how to determine those.

This is a matter of taste.

Is this what the purists call "unwritten rules." I think the unwritten rules should have been banned with Pete Rose.

The only thing excessive is how much sports outlets are talking about "the bat flip." Talk about the dinger!

I was going to say the only thing excessive is how far he hit it.

As fragile mentally some of these players are can you imagine how great Baseball would be if you did add trash talk?

These guys are so fragile there would be some mediocre pitchers with great trash game that would just own some hitters every time they faced them.

Imagine if someone with the trash talk game like MJ or Bird were on the mound pitching and talking trash from the mound. Hitters would be so wound up they couldn't hit a pitch.

BTW that was a great game to watch

Interesting Ben Revere fact.

IN HIS CAREER he has swing and missed 351 times.

11 people did that THIS SEASON.
