Since we'll likely be seeing highlights of it over the next week or so, let's use Joe Carter's series winning home run off of Mitch Williams back in '93. In just about any other instance, his "trot" looks totally ridiculous and uncalled for. But, in the situation he was in...totally "normal" and acceptable.

Like much of life there's no black and white rule.

 

My biggest issue with Joey Bats was not so much the bat flip but it was the staredown he did at the pitcher as soon as he hit it. Had he flipped the bat, raised his hands up in celebration, and did the Joe Carter trot I'd have no issue.

Gotcha. I guess I never really realized he was looking straight at the pitcher when he was doing that.

Let's give a couple of extreme reactions and you tell me if they're acceptable in this case.

 

 

1. Moonwalking to first base

2. blowing a kiss to the pitcher

3. Yelling "we got you, ....." to the pitcher

4. Walking around the bases with your hands up in the air taking in the adulation

 

All extreme but are any over the line?

Well, the majority of the game is based around opinion, isn't it? Is it a strike, or is it a ball? Did he swing or didn't he? Is he safe or is he out? Might as well go ahead and add this to the list. :lol2:

But we have a rulebook that gives us a set of instruction as to how to determine those.

 

This is a matter of taste.

What. A. Game. Best part was that the two guys that have been producing for Toronto for years, Joey Bats and Edwin were the two that came up huge in this game. 2,756 games between those two before their first playoff appearance and they deliver. Gives me chills just thinking about it.

I do feel bad for Andrus.

Andrus had a hand in that E3 as well. He definitely had a half inning to forget.

How about the heart that Adrian Beltre showed this series. That guy is a warrior. Blue Jays tried to take advantage of him defensively and he handled his business like he was 100%
