Really think pig is by far the best defensive player in the region

I'm thinking it's either Pig or Matt Wilson.

Completely agree! The main reason I think Pig is the best defender is his versatility, he can guard anyone from smaller guards to smaller forwards. And I remember last season when he was matched up against James Bolden and held him to around 10 points.

He also made things tough for Damion King last year when they played GRC.

With Wilson, he changes the game with his interior defense.

Both are fun to watch.

If Isiah Garrison can develop a perimeter shot and Mason County can get a inside presence then they will be a very very solid team offensively and defensively.

6'9 Sophomore Dalton Perkins will offer Mason County plenty of rim protection.

Hows his footwork? I ask because usually kids that tall when that young are often growing at a rapid rate it hard for them not to be a bit unbalanced. Sounds like a defite presence ot the hoop.

Footwork is good. Skill level is high. Only consistent issues in AAU were his hands and conditioning but he is working hard to improve in both areas.

Look for Blake Pedigo this season from GRC. He will be a sophomore and is around 6'4-6'6 and should fill in the post position. I know we had a really good Freshman team last year. They will need experience at the varsity level, but could be a contender by the end of the season.

Blake has a nice mid-range jump shot, too. He could be a force to be reckoned with for the next 3 years.

Ryan Cooper and JJ Johnson were on GRC's Varsity as freshmen last year, but were limited in playing time due to early season injuries. Both are expected to either start or have significant playing time in Varsity.

It will be fun to watch this good group of sophomores for the next 3 years. Other players from this group are Chase Taylor, Tristan Hamlin, Houston Goodman, PJ Williams, Will Philpot, Tydarius Clark, Kenyan Combs, and Tra Hooten.

What is most interesting is that each of these players could drop 15 to 20 points in a game!

Just needs to get some meat on his bones then he'll be a force to reckon with. But by far the tallest player in MCHS and one of the best kids out there off the court also.

The Mason/Paris game will be very interesting to watch if Pig Williams and Garrison are both 100%. It will show the true identity in both back courts when being pressured the entire game.

Was thinking about this...That would be a good game to catch.

Thanks for all the info. I knew we had a very good Freshman team and won the region last year. I am excited to watch this team this year, they may surprise some people.

Coach Biggs has really been strong on conditioning from what I've heard around the school. Dalton should be in great physical shape by the time the season rolls around.
