Rumor: CNN alters photo of Oregon shooter to make him look more white.

Featured Replies

Haven't you posted a few misleading thread titles yourself? :lol2:

No not exactly. There was one where I didn't post the link I wanted to in the first post, but did offer a link that had the exact wording as the thread title. With the OP of this thread it's a common issue. ;)

I've only seen "allegedly" altered for this topic.

The question here is (1) was the altered photos on CNN? (2) if so who did it?

Wasn't it you that posted the thread about 15 cops being an innocent teen with batons for Jay walking?

I guess you can't read, as you didn't read my post that you quoted.

Serious question: Is that really how it's viewed or how it is viewed by some groups ?

I always thought the rule of thumb has always been if people like the person then they are considered mixed/biracial. If they don't like them then they are black.

Also, some biracial people are offended by being called mixed.

The media has issues when reporting on crimes and race, see this current issue, Zimmerman, The President.....

To lighten the mood, Dave Chappelle would have a field day in his racial draft.....

Comedy gold. :lol2: :lol2:

So you did post that one...The one with the misleading thread title that had to be changed?

Interesting perspective on like v dislike. My personal opinion is that the term "mixed" sounds like someone took a Betty Crocker cookbook and created the person, so I have never really liked that term myself. I can understand someone being offended, it seems dehumanizing to use "mixed".

I'd never thought of it before until a biracial person mentioned it to me. My stepson is mixed and my daughter is mixed and all of our families have always used mixed to describe them. Everyone is different though. I try to use biracial more consciously in public now.

Are we taking networks to task for reporting something said by the father? Hasn't every news outlet reported this comment?

Yes I just picked one, all networks will run with anti gun news, what sells better today?

Many friends have biracial kids, some hate the term mixed, some hat the term biracial.....one just says she don't know she is black, white, or whatever, we just know she is a country bumpkin lol

The media and the white house will go to any length to hide or dispel the fact that this massacre was Islam inspired terrorism..

Well like Ft Hood, this will probably be labeled as Schoolplace Violence.
