Harlan Co. Best stadium and friendliest fanbase I know. When they play Youll never get out of Harlan alive before the game, that is special.

 

Definitely agree with Harlan. You have the creek going by the visitor side, the mountains in the background, and the hospitality of the people in Harlan County. Great atmosphere!

Around 1985 or so we played at Dayton and I was,the ball boy. Some fans on the hill behind the stadium's North side wanted to play catch. I tossed the game ball up and it never came back. Red Dog Dougherty wasn't too pleased.

 

The old dog pound where people only did who knows what back then and some time before/after. After the white fence came down, it changed.

Russellville has a really old but cool set up!

I was passing through Russellville one day to visit my brother at Ft. Campbell and stopped to check out Rhea Stadium. It is really cool. Would love to see a game there.

Pikeville has been this way as long as I can remember. From the time they were grass & now turf, they have always moved the visitor bleachers after the season for the baseball team to use the field.

 

The Pikeville Cubs minor league baseball team played there (watched Greg Maddux way back there as a kid in 1984.

Not really any unique stadiums in Lexington. The 5 city schools are pretty cookie cutter on overall design, Tates Creek is pretty cool to watch a game simply due to how the field sits so low down in the natural bowl behind the high school/middle school buildings, where the ticket booth is @ the top of the hill & you enter & walk down to the field area, its in a neighborhood so it has a nice feel, same with Lafayette, the newest stadium in town, bleachers are the nicest & a neighborhood setting as well. LCA has the only grass field in town I believe (unless they have changed it, I dont make it there often. LexCath has a very intimate setting due to being so landlocked in their campus on Clays Mill Rd. The football field also is their girls softball field on one end & their baseball field on the other.

 

Belfrys old stadium was a very cool place to watch a game, havent been there in years, not even sure if they use it for Middle School games or anything anymore.

Rash Stadium in Owensboro. In the heart of the city (on Frederica St. and Ford), sits right behind the school, no track so you can literally high-five your kid after a good play from the stands. You are right on top of the field. Beautiful turf field. Nice visiting team stands with a ton of seats (not the open bleacher type). Mature trees line the visiting side. End Zone bleachers for Students

I still have a couple program from both teams and an autographed baseball from the Brewers with Chris Bosio' s signature on it who is now the pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs if I'm not mistaking. They no longer put the visiting bleachers up during football season.

game ball is parachuted into

stadium by a solder from the

101st Division.

Many receivers and tight ends have said they wanted to try going up in that end zone

corner to catch a pass, but have never succeeded.

I had forgotten about that. Saw Bardstown play FC in a region final game several years ago and thought it was a cool setup and opening. I think I had forgotten it because it was quite cold that night. I brilliantly left my window rolled down by mistake and came out with a frosted inside windshield.

Went down to Gilligan Stadium (Bellevue HS) this afternoon after work and took the following pictures. While I was there I talked with former Bellevue great, Doug Miller ('83) who is an Asst. Coach, who said there are plans to replace the light poles. Right now there are 8 and this will be cut down to only 4.
