October 10, 201510 yr I played on teams that on smaller scope won big games. Bball regional championship, 1st round win at Sweet 16. I would have had a heart attack if our coach would have done anything but immediately head to opposing coach and humbly shake his hand. I hear what you are saying. I just don't think you have a handle on where this program was going into this game and how HUGE the Texas / OU rivalry is. I still believe if Strong had a laid an egg today he would not be back.
October 10, 201510 yr Just my opinion. And that's yours. I show some class and humbly walk to midfield and shake opposing coaches hand. I don't act like a ten year old. You must have missed that Roy Campanella quote from way back when.
October 10, 201510 yr Was a big win, but as soon as I saw the coach acting like a bafoon, it was tarnished Let's see I have a vision of Vince Lombardi being carried off the field, his arms raised, wearing that suit he always wore. Not a lot of class there.

I thought of that exact same moment. Wonder if he was gracious enough to shake the opposing coaches hand before being carried off?
October 10, 201510 yr You must have missed that Roy Campanella quote from way back when. About players having a little boy in them?
October 10, 201510 yr Disagree. The only thing that could save him was a win vs OU. That buys any Texas coach some time. We'll disagree. The new AD and the admin knows what Charlie was left with.

Shaking hands doesn't determine if something is classy or not. I do not like Charlie Strong but him celebrating with the players showed me that he has passion for the game.
