Would this fall under redbook? My understanding , albeit very limited, is that rule applies to fundraising activities by specific groups in the school.

Let's say Boyle County wears Nike unis and shoes. They are stroking a check for that gear. It's not free. Someone is paying for it.

 

The new UA partnership is different in that UA GIVES the gear (and lots of gear) to the school. As someone posted above they are making special uniforms to go with the regular. You may see "camo" unis for special games, for example. CCH isn't paying for those. They are getting them for free.

True that, plus Cov Cath is a one district school (unlike say SK, Scott, Dixie) that have three schools in one district, makes a big difference as well.

It's all in who you are. If this were cordia having this deal the whole state would be on the brink of all out war. When cordia got in trouble on their trumped up charges the khsaa found cordia guilty on something that a private independent 3rd party individual-orgizanation did. I don't see how this is any different. The khsaa said they had violated whatever number bylaw it was that the basketball players can't get any special treatment that was not offered to the rest of the student body. I know everyone can't play basketball but cordia was told if their ball team went on a trip and somebody bought a kid a big Mac that was a violation. Come on man! It looks like to me somebody got their palms greased(khsaa). I am happy for the kids but I don't see how that's fair.
