Boyle is still number one, and we won't find much out about them this week. But, we will find out somethings about Belfry as they take on the number one team in the state of West Virginia. Can the Pirates win one for Kentucky? Who's watching Central? It seems many eyes have been opened to Caldwell County, how far can they go in the playoffs this year? Where does Russell really belong? Who should move up? Who should move down? What other teams have an argument for that number ten spot?

Outside of Belfry, Caldwell would be the only "possible" loss and that's a stretch and would be a really big upset.

The top 4 seem pretty solidly in place to me, even if you could argue for a change in order, it would be those 4 teams.

Belfry will definitely have the biggest challenge this week. I'll be pulling for a big win by the Pirates.

E'town, LexCath, who else?

Etown, LexCath, and Tilghman are the only three that have a legit gripe. Each has some redeeming quality.

 

Russell is all by their lonesome at 8. I think they could play with any of those teams wanting #5 , but their resume isn't strong enough to validate them.

 

Then the 9 and 10 spot you have about 8 teams (Bell, Corbin, Lawrence, Adair, Henry Co, Union Co, Garrard, West Carter).

I still don't get why Boyle is #1 . Belfry is the state champ and has shown no reason they are not going to repeat. Question: What has Boyle done other than move from 4-A to 3-A to justify them being #1 ???. OR are people just getting on the Boyle band wagon.

As a Belfry fan I have no problem with Boyle at #1

 

They have played 5 quality teams... 4 of those teams they boat raced with a running clock at some point. Danville has proven to be a very good win, especially considering how Boyle dominated them. Bell County is a Top 10 3A team and Boyle crushed them as well.

 

Belfry's schedule and Boyle's on the whole have been comparable and Boyle has been a little more dominant thusfar as such. A good correlation would be Danville and NewCath. Danville was a running clock whereas Belfry had to put NewCath away late. It is worth noting though Belfry beat NewCath while the Pirates were missing their two top offensive weapons though and starting a Freshman QB.

I agree with all that you have said but, I think that Belfry is #1 until that get beat. I love my Rebels and think that they are playing the best football of any 3A team right now. I know you still have E-town, Adair, Boyle, Belfry and Henry undefeated in 3A. But I just think that Belfry is #1 until someone can beat them. Boyle would be my #2 and probably Caldwell #3 and Central #4 but the rest looks ok to me.

 

I see that Union has lost only 1 game this year. Can anybody fill me in on them? You know we don't get to follow the guy in the west that much. Just wondering about them and maybe Hart Co..

Rebel, I don't know a ton on Union, but what I do know is they have a new coach this year. Coach Boston came from Henderson County where he played and still lives. I am told he loves the technical side of the game (studying film, gameplanning and the like), which is rare except for the top teams. He has instilled a great positive environment in the club house and it has paid off to date on the field. I'm not sure what happened to them at Madisonville, but think they are a solid club.

I don't think they are in Boyle, Belfry, Central and Caldwell's league, but they get a chance to play Caldwell (minus Dee Cain) this week at home, so it should be a good indicator of where they are today.
